G'Day Mate was Far Guy's dog, I gave her to him so he wouldn't be tempted to sell her. She was from a litter of four from our Misty and Moses, both Registered Shetland Sheepdogs or Shelties.
She was stubborn as the day is long. She spent most of her life as a juvenile delinquent.
Who else would be on the roof.
Far Guy was continually fixing the valley on this roof at the house at the resort. Mate was born in 1986 so this must have been 1988 -1990 or so.
Far Side
She climbed the ladder? LOL. I can just see your faces the first time you discovered her on the roof!
ReplyDeleteMaybe she had circus dogs in her family? They were the only dogs I ever saw climb ladders! LOL! Amazing! How did she get down?
ReplyDeleteSometimes the juvies are so much more fun. I had one, her name was Xena and she was a funny good, bad, nice, naughty dog. Great memory.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo. "See me? I'm up here. I did it."
ReplyDeleteShe went up the ladder?!?
ReplyDeleteWe had two cats that delighted in sitting on the roof peak - our neighbors told us about them being there in the morning mist! They must have enjoyed the view.
ReplyDeleteSo funny, what a great photo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture. When we got married on 1990 my husband had a sheltie and we've had one ever since. Our current girl, Katie, is stubborn but she's never been on the roof!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chuckle this morning. G'Day Mate had a fun name and lived up to it.
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when I saw this picture. How in the world did she ever get down? We always wanted a sheltie, but we have always had rescue dogs. I don’t regret having the dogs we have had, but I do think shelties are beautiful dogs. Blessings, Betsy
ReplyDeleteWhat?! Looks like a talented dog. And she looks proud of herself too!
ReplyDeleteNow that's quite a dog to be on the roof.
ReplyDeleteShe climbed the ladder? How did she get down?! What a great shot. She does look so proud of herself--LOL! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing. A juvenile delinquent! That's so funny. I'm going back and finish reading about your vacation. I've missed a lot. :)
ReplyDeleteLol! A few of our dogs have been on the roof, as you can walk off the deck straight onto the roof. A bit of a shock if you are at the other side of the house and suddenly see a dog on the roof.
ReplyDeleteDon't often see a dog on a roof
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of a couple of hyperactive little boys who were known to be found on the roof.
ReplyDeleteHaha! She must have been quite a dog!!
ReplyDeleteLike other comment-ers I'm wondering how she came down the ladder??
My husband took her down:)
DeleteHa! What a clever dog. Perfect juvenile delinquent behavior. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a hoot!
ReplyDeleteOh my... she was mischievous indeed!
ReplyDeleteDid she climb the ladder??? I am betting she did. One of our cats used to get on our roof on a regular basis and cry like it had to be helped down. We eventually just let her come down the way she went up--via the wisteria vine at the end of the porch!
