Christmas is finally put away. Far Guy and Jen just finished putting the tree away under one of the twin beds upstairs.
New ornaments this year.
Jen made this snowflake ornament. It is made from three different glitter papers: blue, silver and light blue. Three on each side coordinating designs and then glued together and a jewel added to the center. These were cut out on the new die cut machine.
Far Guy picked out an ornament for me in Hawaii. We packed it inside an ice cream container and then wrapped it in a couple of shirts inside the suitcase. It made the trip home just fine and spent a few days on the tree.
We have lots of snow and it has been bitterly cold.
We finally ventured out to the grocery store, we have been staying "put" since Far Guy is still taking it easy after his surgery. His new port works, no blood return but that was not a surprise for us. The surgeon said it was sluggish in the OR...so it goes.
Jen is here with Miss Miney and Little Elvis, they are going to the groomers. They were happy to see us and we are happy to see them!

I love your new ornaments! Jen's is stunning and The palm tree ornament will be a wonderful remembrance each Christmas of your trip to Hawaii. Good job, Gene! So glad he is recuperating and the new port is functioning well! Wish him my best and he is in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteLove your two new ornaments. They are both very pretty. Also glad to hear Far Guy is on the "mend". Very bitter cold here and lots of snow here. I think Winter can end now as I am already tired of shoveling snow. Keeping Far Guy in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteMy, you guys stay busy! Love the ornaments but especially love the one Jen made.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's ornament is amazing! And the other the perfect memento of Hawaii. Hope Far Guy is feeling better and better.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Miss Merry. She took the words right out of my mouth. Sending you and FG lots of love and hope you get some warm breezes soon. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad Far Guy's port is working fine, and you got to see the dogs. I'm jealous of your snow. We were meant to get some over the weekend, but didn't.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ornaments! Happy you had some doggy company - stay warm during this cold spell!
ReplyDeleteJen's ornament is gorgeous! Snow and bitter cold must be a shock to you after soaking up the Hawaiian sunshine and warmth.
ReplyDeleteLove the ornaments. I'm sure Far Guy's surgeon will attest that it is an INFUSION port and than if it also draws then that is a plus. They get a bit sensitive about that. At least my surgeon did.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful ornament she made! And the one from Hawaii is so perfect.
ReplyDeleteGlad the port is working well.
Have fun with the pups and stay warm!! :)
The ornaments are beautiful. I love the one from Hawaii! I went to the UPS store in Kona and shipped back things I didn't want to carry on as luggage. It was nice to have my laundry arrive a few days after I got home.
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be really bitter here tonight. Errand time for me.
The ornament that Jen made is stunning! And your Hawaii ornament will bring back wonderful memories each time you look at it. We have three ornaments that we have bought on trips to Hawaii and I remember each and every trip very well. I’m glad you were able to venture venture out a bit, but please stay safe and warm. The weather is just plain nasty this year. Also glad to hear the port is working. I am keeping you both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
Hey , I like the decoration Far Guy picked out.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ornament that Jen made. The Hawaii one is a nice reminder of warm weather in Winter.
ReplyDeleteFar Guy is a good guy!
ReplyDeleteHope he heals quickly, Connie!
I love your new ornaments... especially the one Jen made. It's beautiful! So glad Far Guy's port is working.
ReplyDeleteBoth ornaments are just lovely and oh, so special. I'm thankful FG's port is working. Glad you have some visitors to brighten these bitter cold days.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new ornaments you have...I love them both! The one that your Jen made, had to be a lot of work for sure! The sparkle of it shows the love that went into it! It's bitterly cold here too and according to the weather forecast it looks like the same for about the next two weeks. I thought this was an El Nino winter with lots of warm weather? So much for that. Take care you guys...don't venture out too far! :)
ReplyDeleteRepeating the above - beautiful ornament by Jen, love the Hawaiian one and glad the port is working. (So original)
ReplyDeleteJen's handmade ornament is beautiful. We collect ornaments from our travels too. They conjure up good memories.
ReplyDelete...our tree is decorated with ornaments that we have collected over the past 50 years, many from Hawaii.
