Most all of the leaves are out of the trees. We mulched for the 8th or 9th time…I lost track.
Before
After… we are making progress
One more time and we may be done.
We are staying busy. We washed a couple of windows and did a bunch of small projects. It snowed again Wednesday morning…enough to make the ground white it must be our 5th or 6th snow I have lost track of that too…the snow reminded me that I needed to give my winter boots a waterproof treatment.
It is supposed to be real nice and warm today 50 something degrees so the flower bed is on my list. Solar lights will replace dead flowers and leaves.
36 degrees this morning. Our coldest morning so far. The silver maples are full of green leaves, edged with yellow. The walnut trees are leafless. No snow so far. Yesterday, I disconnected the hose from the outside faucet.
ReplyDeleteDoes the mulching blade chop them up so you don't have to rake? It was near 70 yesterday and really mice so i worked outside. Today is another nice day and then rain so I'll be out there again today. Your before and after pictures really tell the story. This is a wet fall here which is better than the fire danger we usually have...I'll take it! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteyes mulching blades chop them up into fine pieces...good for the lawn:)
DeleteOMG! It says we could hit 69 degrees today! Then right back down to 40s and 50s. I'll believe it when I feel it. Would be nice to have the place wide open for a while. You've had more snow than we have. Of course if it didn't stay on the ground I may not have noticed it or slept through it--LOL My sleeping patterns are still all over the place with the stuffed up head. ;) Got such a pretty card in the mail. ;)
ReplyDeleteI looked at the temperature here: only 42 degrees and supposed to be sunny and record warmth. I am still recovering from my knee injury so I won't be hiking with the Trailblazers. I already miss it. Glad to hear your leaves are now all gone. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood plan to add a new coat of waterproof to your boots before they are needed. Looks like you and Far Guy are winning the battle against the leaves.
ReplyDeleteOur Sunday snow disappeared on Monday. And we're finally having a couple of sunny days in a row, after 3 weeks of grey gloom and rain. Today might even reach 70. This coming Saturday is the opening day of pheasant season and the temps should be perfect 50-60 with sun.
ReplyDeleteWow! You have mulched a lot of weeds! Good idea on waterproofing those boots. I think this may be a doozy of a winter. After all the snow that we drove through over the weekend, it has been in the 60s and absolutely gorgeous here all week. I think that is supposed to change next week though so I plan to enjoy it while I can.
ReplyDeleteBlessings always, Betsy
You're going to get a nice long streak of pleasant weather. We have a nice forecast for the next seven days.
ReplyDeleteOutdoor chores.... they never end. Congratulations on your progress with the leaves. Our trees, here in northwest Indiana, are still more-than-full. We'll be mulching towards Thanksgiving.... if everything isn't covered by snow by then. Lovingly, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe temperature here is 59 today and the first cool weather we've had. We've been talking about how chilly it is. Isn't that funny and you were saying, today is going to be nice and warm because it's supposed to be 50 something. You are making progress with the leaves. I haven't started yet.
ReplyDeleteYep we had a little bit more of a warm day today. I can’t figure out which jacket to wear at the different times of the days. I have a wild and crazing woman who loves to mow at very fast speeds, taking care of the old place. She broke a belt so she had to dig out another tractor mower. I have her mowing off peonies so that I don’t have to cut them down. We have had only a couple of snows but nothing to impress me. Take care and I hope the warm stays around even if it is 50s.
ReplyDeleteWe were near 70 today. We are hard at the fall clean up of the vegetable garden and planting beds. The tulips are all planted, which involved more clean up. the leaves are just beginning to fall here. Clean up will go on through November, including mowing the lawn.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your weather is all over the place. Nice for the warmer temps. Not sure I'd be ready for snow just yet...probably why you're there and I'm not ;)
