Fall Flag

Put up a different flag.

IMG_2587

Perhaps he will scare away the legions of Asian Lady Beetles that have showed up…the nasty biting smelly things.  Apparently all the soybeans have been harvested and low and behold one warm day and they show up.

I patrolled the outside of the house with a flyswatter for awhile…made it real smelly hoping it would discourage others from landing.  They like to use Far Guy’s head as a landing strip. Smile

  1. I love your flag!! We have a ton of the stink bugs too. It's just their "time to shine" I guess. *haha* As long as they don't come in the house (they don't) then they can have the outside, as far as I'm concerned. But then again I'm an animal goof. :) Lovingly, Andrea xoxo

  2. Love your new flag. I have a 'thing' for scarecrows. I even have a book about them somewhere around here. I have a book on just about everything! LOL! I have seen them here much...yet but we are behind when it come to Fall. Plus, no soybean fields around here that I've noticed....mostly animals grazing and deer too. Have a nice Friday!

    1. I meant I 'haven't' seen the beetles here. Evidently I need more coffee.

  3. I laughed to imagine the landing strip the stink bugs are using. :-)

  5. Yes, those bugs are sooooooooo nasty! Who ever brought them over here ought to be tarred & feathered with them!

  6. Those bugs are horrible! I have been sweeping hundreds of them off the porch a few times a day. The soybeans are still mostly in the fields but very dry. Harvesting has been slow because of the moist ground.
We turn cold again this weekend and hopefully they start to stay away.

  7. I like the banner as the guy is wearing one of my flannel shirts. I cleaned out my garden shed recently, sweeping out those bugs from years in the past. We had such an invasion that they died behind everything in the shed. I haven’t seen any of that kind of ladybug yet but I am sure we will have a few.

  8. Beautiful banner that screams fall to me! But the rest of your story! Eww! I don’t think I’ve ever seen those kind of bugs and I don’t think I want to! Good luck on the extermination. Far Guy better watch his head with you wielding the flyswatter! Ha! Blessings, Betsy

  9. I'm glad we don't get them here in the city. Supposed to be back down to freezing at night tonight so maybe it will kill them off. Hope so! ;)

    Like your new flag. :)

  10. Years ago I worked with a fellow who was bald on top, and other guys called him 'mosquito airport', so your last sentence brought back memories. Your new flag is great, very appropriate and cheery, until the snow falls, and stays.
