It is Fair time again which means a date night for Pork Burgers at the Fair…they were excellent this year…not too much sage.
French Fries were $1 at the 4 –H booth…so that was supper.
It was a very warm 88 F or 31 C eh with lots of humidity. We walked through some of the exhibits.
Our Great Nieces exhibited their brown egg laying chickens. We get eggs from them and they are the best eggs ever.
Far Guy liked this chicken. I think it was the hair do that made us both smile.
As we were leaving the Chicken Barn a boy and his chicken were sharing French Fries.
You could tell that the boy and his chicken were bonded.
Sounds like you had a lovely date night at the fair.
ReplyDeleteLove those date nights at the Fair. Our County Fair starts next week.
ReplyDeleteThat is a Polish Chicken, we loved raising them as they are such odd looking chickens! My sons both showed chickens in 4H and had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect night out.
I love those chickens. And county fairs. And eating at the 4-H stand. And of course it has to be sweaty-humid-hot. I think you had a perfect date night!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful date. Cute photo of the boy and his chicken. I'm not sure we can get fries at out county fair for $!, but I will find out tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteGladys would probably like some french fries...
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to wander through the buildings and barns to see the animals at the Fair. I enjoy the lemonade stand - fresh squeezed lemons and just the right amount of sugar.
ReplyDeleteah the fair - we need to make a visit!
ReplyDeleteChickens are a kids best friend.
ReplyDeleteI like that pic of the boy sharing his French fries with his chicken.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a sweet date night, albeit hot and sticky. :)
ReplyDeleteThat chicken with the hairdo would make me laugh. I love the fair! Shelby and I were talking this morning about the upcoming state fair.
ReplyDeleteI love that "bad hair day" chicken!
ReplyDeleteWe've always got to spend some time at the fair.
ReplyDeleteYour fair is really early compared to those out here on the west coast. The boy and chicken bonding is sweet. I never liked our chickens when I was kid.
ReplyDeleteAw! Thanks for the ID of the Dobsonfly! Weird little thing. Did I tell you Bravecto? For ticks? I forget. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteYes we use Bravecto for Chance:)
DeleteWhat a fun time, love that chickens hair lol
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to go to the fair?!
ReplyDeleteFun at the fair! Ours comes in September and I alway look forward to it. Our granddaughter has a chicken like that crazy haired one. She loves it! What a sweet boy and his chicken. It makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
The chicken hairdo makes me smile, too. And I love that last picture, too. Now I'm all smiles. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou really should watch the DVD called "Chicken People" about people who breed and raise chickens for competition. Proof that it takes all kinds to make up our world.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing fair time....so many great memories of fairs gone by.
