Winter flags

One day I went outside and my Valentine’s Day Flag was gone.  We looked around…the wind had been blowing.  It is red for Gosh Sakes and should stick out like a sore thumb.  We may find it when the snow melts.

Then I wondered was it really the wind…or some deer that wanted a flag snack.  I saw no hoof prints.   The sign you see on the door says “Please don’t wear perfume or aftershave in my home as they make it difficult for me to breathe.”  Mostly it is a sign that people ignore…

I decided to put the wolf flag up for awhile.

We went out for lunch yesterday!  Our first time out for lunch in about two months, it was good to get out.  It was 38F or 3C eh!  Chance enjoyed the outing too…but no french fries for him…he staged a little protest at suppertime…when his french fries were missing and replaced with rice…a little pumpkin persuaded him to finish his meal…silly dog that has humans wrapped around his paws.

  3. Maybe a squirrel made a blanket out of it.

  4. I'll bet you find your flag once the snow is gone. It's already March, so it won't be long now. Glad to hear you all got out for a change. :-)

  6. Hmm, a mystery for sure. I'm sure you will find it under the snow that fell off of the roof.

  8. The flag is probably off in the woods and will show up when all the snow melts away.
It's soooo hard to shift things on an animal who doesn't understand why.

Leah has trouble with scents (asthma). I used to love wearing perfumes and walking into one of the "smell-good" stores was a treat for me (like Bath & Body, etc). I haven't worn any for must be 15 years now. Even if I used it at home when she wasn't around--then it bothered her to come and visit. I even get unscented or barely scented hand lotions, etc. Leah made me aware of that whole issue for many people. I don't think most people really understand. Obviously--when even a sign on your front door doesn't help. ;) Glad everyone's getting better over there. :)

  9. Love the flag. My mom can't have any scented stuff around her either. Of course I don't wear it any more at all. However, I do use an unscented soap in the spring through fall and a shampoo that smells like geranium.
I am guessing a antlerless buck grabbed the flag and took it for next fall so he could swoon some gals.

  10. Uh oh! It will be interesting to see where it turns up. I'm glad you had some warmer weather and could get out for dinner. After two months, I know it was a treat.

  11. Strong perfume and aftershave bug me, and I don't have breathing issues. I really don't get why people need to slather it on.

  12. The flag disappearance is a mystery unless some human is trying to place a trick on you.

  13. Our local hospital has a sign asking people not to wear perfume or use after shave. My daughter , who works at the hospital, says some doctors are the worst offenders!!

  14. Hope you find your flag when the snow melts.

People often ignore signs. I used to have a no smoking sign that said, "Lungs at work," on it. It got damaged when being pulled down during a move so I don't have it any more, but I still had to remind people - even people who visited regularly - that mine was a no smoking home. I still don't allow smoking in my home, but I don't have a sign any more.

Our furbabies always have us wrapped around our paws. Trouble is, they know it too.

  15. How good to get out!
We've had big winds, good luck with your flag!!!

  16. That temperatures seems like a heatwave after all the cold you have had up there. I would have raccoons take my suet feeders up onto the roof of the house but a flag is a new one for me. With wind it could have flow upwards and be in a tree a few yards away.

  17. Glad you got to go out for lunch. I'm not supposed to eat any of that stuff that they have on menus...you know the good stuff.....my fav....bacon cheeseburger and fries! I only had that one episode so I may succumb to a cheeseburger one of these days. You have to enjoy life too.
I hope you find your flag...very strange. I like the wolf flag....what does Chance think of it? Your Dad did a great job on that woodpecker too...I forgot to mention that. Looks great on your pole and maybe it will attract some red heads.
