Pollen is beginning to get bad. It makes my eyes itch.
I have drops to put in my eyes when it feels as if they would feel better if I scratched them right out of my head. So far it is the Popples and Willows. I can hardly wait for the Pines to begin spewing pollen all over.
I saw Dracula an Allergist about my food allergies and may have results sometimes next month. A brand new Epi Pen arrived yesterday in the mail…so I am all set.
Tis the season for itchy eyes and sneezing. So far I haven't been too bad. At least here I live we don't get the Pine pollen all over the place. Hope the drops keep you comfortable.
ReplyDeleteAllergies are miserable and I hope yours ease up a bit. We are thinking of getting an air purifier that can be moved around the house, like into the bedroom when sleeping. Hate to make the purchase not knowing if it will help though.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about your allergies, but thank goodness 'Dracula' could help.
ReplyDeleteI join you in allergy suffering, drops don't help my eye they just make them drier and itchier.
ReplyDeleteI have been using Flonase for awhile now when it gets bad, and it really helps. Spring and fall I'm miserable otherwise. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a miserable season for allergies, my hubby has developed allergies and every blooming tree here in KS is full of pollen. Hope you get some relief!
ReplyDeleteYou must really be allegic if you need an epi pen! I didn't know you had food allergies. What are you allergic to? Yes, the pollen does exactly the same to my eyes and that is why I haven't been able to read much at night. By the time evening rolls around my eyes are shot for close up anything! It's better this week with the rain but last week was dry and windy...great for hanging my clothes outside but not so great for the eyes! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe will see what the tests say. I have heard many people don't hang out clothing in the spring because of the pollen :(
DeleteI thought of that after a few weeks! LOL! I was laying on pillowcases that were probably full of pollen! By the time I figured it out the Spring pollen season was over! Ha! Ha! I'm so not smart sometimes. The trees are all leafed out now, even the oaks so I'm good until Fall.
DeleteI'm suffering right now also...and the wind..it doesn't help. Boy are we ever having wind. It will blow now until the snow is melted in the mountains. SIGH!
ReplyDeleteI treat my allergies year round, but the spring pollens (trees and grass) keep me sniffling and sneezing.
ReplyDeleteAllergies bother me, too. So far Flonase and a Claritin generic work well enough. Our pines are full of pollen. Pretty sure that is one of the allergies. BUT Garbry Big Woods Sanctuary is filled with large-flowered trillium and wild blue phlox and spring beauties so things aren't all bad.
ReplyDeleteCynthia,
ReplyDeleteAir purifiers really help. The best ones use HEPA filters. Here in Calif. I have to deal with Oak, Cottonwood, & Pine pollen, Love the trees, put sure don't like the pollen (like the rest of you). Sandy Hugs to Chance.
I'm Sandy, Forgot the period. Love your blog.
ReplyDeletePollen is a factor, for sure. I have all of the usual complaints, with the added discomfort of hives, new this year! I had an attack this spring, so no doubt pollen may have something to do with it!
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for all those who suffer allergies. Must make life pretty difficult.
ReplyDeletePollen can be very uncomfortable as an allergy. I know from my own experience but mine doesn't sound as severe as yours.
ReplyDeleteOh pollen!!! We have been in the thick, and I do mean thick, of it! It doesn't bother me too much but Friday I drug the hose up on the porch and washed the green dust off everything, walls and screen too. By Saturday my left eye was so red and swollen.
ReplyDeleteI've just caught up with your posts. I love the deer picture...the two running.
Sorry about the problems you are having with your foot and the carpel tunnel. Honestly, getting old!! Seems like every day it's something different aching or going to sleep, and the days are going by too fast! :) Henny
This seems to be a particularly bad spring for allergies. I went to sit down on my porch glider and thought it was dusty, but it was actually covered with a thick layer of pollen! By the time I got it cleaned off, my eyes and face were itching too much to sit outside!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your allergies. I have trouble as well but still I do love Spring and Fall despite all the pollen. I hope your insurance covered your Epi pen without too much trouble or expense. That seems to have become one of the many items insurance companies take pleasure at over-charging us!
ReplyDeleteMrs T also hates the allergy season. I told her we're investing in Kleenex Corp. My newest is something called "trigger thumb". Thing is I haven't hunted for ten years now. The cortisone shot helped a lot though so like some baseball players am now on "steroids"...:(
ReplyDeleteI usually have allergy problems this time of year, from the tree pollen, but this year i must have given all of my allergic reactions to poor Tom. He has been miserable and I am just fine. That was not nice of me.
ReplyDeleteYou have spring!! Hurray. But boo for allergies. I'm allergic to birch pollen but have stopped the meds for the time being due to all our freezing weather and snow!
ReplyDeleteFall is my worst time for pollen but spring is bad enough!
