A lake

It warmed way up to 49 F  or 9C  eh!  Then it rained and we had snow fog.   Then the wind blew.  Snow melted and melted.

4 inches of snow March5

On March 5th we had four inches of snow at the snowstick.

We have less now and lots of water and ice.  No grass there yet, but it could be getting close…unless of course we get more snow.

It thundered in the afternoon…it was a strange sound to hear in the winter.

We bought a new rain guage, one with huge numbers on it…which is just perfect for us old folks.   Everything in the lawn and garden section says Spring is on the way.   BUT the weather forecast is for below zero weather on Friday morning…how could Spring be so cruel?

I was just about ready to put my parka away along with my good snow boots because I don’t want to wear them in the mud.  I have an old ratty pair that can get muddy and my red waterproof boots… it is too early for Crocs even with socks.

  1. Tom was planning to put the snowblower away and bring out the mower until he saw the forecast for Southwestern Ohio this weekend. More snow? We'll see.

  3. Up's and down's in the weather here also. One day it rains the next it snows. Not putting any winter stuff away until I am positive it is over.

  4. I hope your forecast for Friday is wrong. We are due to have rain most of today, which we need. Have a good day.

  5. What a weird winter it's been! I can't imagine what will happen to that lake in such cold. Well, I can actually but I think you will need spikes to walk around out there. :-)

  7. Better keep both winter and spring coat and boot options handy. I predict you'll be switching between them for at least three more weeks.

  8. We had a huge thunderstorm last night. Lightening bolts and thunder, high winds and pouring rain. And this morning all the snow was gone. Of course the weather people broke into the programsand made it sounded like the end of the world was coming so the Mrs. grabbed a flashlight and fled down the basement. This morning all is calm....:)
