My solar lights are almost covered with snow. I brushed the tops off.
Last week it looked like this.
And like this at night.
The snow settled even more yesterday. The Blue Jays visited our yard along with a few Juncos.
One good thing about the snow…the skunks should be in their dens. So Chance can go out at night by himself…mostly he likes to eat snow. His outside water dish was recycled, he will get a new one in the spring. He has plenty of water in the house…but he prefers the snow.
What a difference a week makes. We are having a cold snap but will be back in the 70s in a few days.
ReplyDeleteWe had the same thing happen here :) Oh, well we lasted along time before winter came. Hug B
ReplyDeleteWow, you really did get a lot of snow. Ours was melted by the afternoon. Now we just have the cold temperatures. Glad Chance can get out at night by himself. Stay warm my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow, those solar lights are really cool. And you're making me miss snow right now. I know you will keep me gazing at your own, so I won't miss it too much. Love the glass (plastic?) flowers in the snow. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your updates. We have a great view into your life, which so richly represented in this blog!
ReplyDeleteOne good thing about getting snow in this area is that it covers the sagebrush and that helps my allergies.
ReplyDeleteI'm always thankful when the skunks head into the den for WINTER!!!

This snowy picture makes me so glad I left the north for Texas.
ReplyDeleteWOW ! lots of snow there already ?! We got a dusting yesterday but it has gone now green again here but the winds and air is cold and the odd snow squall here and there with the odd pop of sun shine to . Yes skunks are not good when you have a dog , Our Miggs found that out a year ago lol ! skunks are not playful kitties Miggs lol ! I think she knows that now lol ! Miggs loves the snow to loves to roll in it play in it and eat it . Have a good day stay cozy . Miggs says WOOF to Chance !
ReplyDeleteSnow at last! What pretty lights you have.
ReplyDeleteSo I'll bet you shovelled an awful lot of snow.
ReplyDeleteWOW you really did get some snow. Hope we get NONE this winter!
ReplyDeleteAs pretty as the snow is, it can make a mess of things. I wonder if Eli will eat the snow...if we get any this winter!
ReplyDeleteIt must be cold. Your snow lingers.
ReplyDeleteCute about Chance eating snow! Glad the skunks are in their dens now. We had terrific wind on Sunday and now much cooler temps in GA (low in the 30's)
ReplyDeleteIt's cold down here now too! From 80 to 27 in a a couple days.....I'm more a middle of the road type person.....not big on extremes unless they come gradually. LOL! I saw the map and I knew it coming to you. My kids in IA were hoping for it but it went North of them. Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteWe have bluejays traveling in packs. I am not sure why they are not in partners and where all the cardinals are this year. I hope they have not moved out of my area.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of those lights at night. I wish we were getting some of your moisture! Every storm just rolls in, splits in half and misses us totally. Not complaining about the sunny days though. Can't change the weather! :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing to see the difference a week can make! It always seems to me that fall just falls off the radar and suddenly it is winter. I'd opt for more fall and less winter :)
