I got a new bed, I sleep on it sometimes, it helps my hips at least that is what they say.
The wind blew and blew yesterday. I don’t like the wind. Then Far Side went one direction and Far Guy another and it was hard to keep an eye on both of them, so I went between them checking on one then the other…looking quite pathetic in the wind…at one point I laid down in the woods.
Far Side attacked the leaves in the yard, they are 90 % down, and this is the sixth mulching. Another time or two and old sore butt will have it under control. She raked, she cussed, she mowed, she raked some more sometimes it was just easier to rake the leaves into the woods. They better stay there too!
Far Guy blew the leaves from the rocks next to the house moving them out so the possessed woman on the mower could pulverize them to smithereens. Then he worked on a project for awhile…it might be revealed someday. Then they carved! I like when they carve at least they were both in the same spot and I could have a nap.
It looks like you're already getting your winter coat in. We're still shedding here in preparation. Mom takes me outside and brushes me but I get tired of standing. She's considerate though and knows when I've had enough. She says the birds will enjoy my fur for their nests. I hate to tell her their nest building is over for this year.
ReplyDeleteYour folks sure work hard. Mom does too but she tires easily...maybe she would be better if she took a nap...we do. Glad they finally settled in one place. I only have the one to watch although actually I guard all of them even the cats. Annie especially as we have some big critters here like you do and she's so small....she doesn't like to go out in the dark by herself so I go with her even if I don't have any business to do. But she's my little sister and I love her. Take care and I hope the old Arthur Itis doesn't bother you too much this winter. Stay warm..........your pal......Nitty and Annie sends her love too(but I type better).
You are still blogging, Chance, and that makes me happy. Your observations of FS and FG makes it sound like you'e right on top of things! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are just beautiful, Chance!

Yes Chance, when they are carving they are predictable and will behave themselves.
ReplyDeleteIt's very stressful to herd humans when they are off in different directions! ;)
ReplyDeleteGood old dog, with divided loyalties.
ReplyDeleteHi Chance! Hope your new bed helps your hips. I'm still trying to find a comfortable position for my hip...Keep an eye on the humans. They are good to hang around and it sound like they enjoy your company.
ReplyDeleteAs they say 'getting old isn't for sissies'. Hope your hips find some relief. Jake is 12 now and very grey around the face, and is a bit slower. So far his joints seem to be mostly okay.
ReplyDeleteA new bed always helps the old joints. My poor Jake has a blanket, but he still gives me the eye, telling me he needs a bed not a blanket.
ReplyDeleteI need a new bed to help with my hips!! Such a beautiful dog!
ReplyDeleteHope your new bed does help. Reba must love her bed, she didn't want to get up this morning.
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are just right for our annual border collies in the maple leaves photo, but it has to quit raining first!
It was 82 degrees today and Barnie got a garden hose bath on the back patio. He has a lot of hind end hair gone to and I think he likes that. You look so well groomed Chance. I have to brush Barnie so much now as he has a fall skin condition acting up and driving him crazy.
