Christmas Photo Cards

I finally got around to putting the year on all the photo Christmas Cards. I took a photo of them and put them away in the box marked Christmas Photos…which will someday end up in a folder…another someday project. There is still room in the box.

These may be really good sources for genealogy someday….or just a good walk down memory lane.
I was thrilled when some of the photos that I took came in the mail as Christmas Cards.

You never know for sure if people liked your photos enough to use them or not.

Photography is a good hobby to have.

  2. I'm beginning to think you never throw anything away, Connie. That means you really do need to have it all labeled and accessible for genealogy purposes in the future. You are a good photographer! :-)

  3. I like the photos you take and am glad that others do too and used them on their family Christmas cards. That is a real tribute.

  4. Smart to put a year on those. When my grandmother died she had lots of Christmas photo cards with no years and no names. ;) You know they liked the photos when they used them--whoohoo!

  7. Genealogy has been revolutionized since the internet took over. There is so much more information out there.

  8. Your photos look great and I am sure they were glad to have them. I organize my piles for cross reference of the ages of some of the nephews and nieces. Sometimes the address isn't where it should be and I have to go back in the time piles to find one.

  9. Momentos are the best kind of cards to receive. It's nice to see how everyone changes through the year. I think I will try to do it next year. Have a picture card made.

  13. I put each year's Christmas photos on a binder ring and use a pretty card on which to write the year. I got this idea from a friend and have been doing it for three years now. It will be fun to look back on them as time passes. I also have saved every Christmas letter and photo I have sent out over the years. Someday they will be a family history for my kids and grand kids.

  15. I love that you did this! I am bummed that all the old photos I find are without names. Well mostly. Dating your cards and keeping them together is a great idea.

  16. Yes, the best compliment is to get your photos back!
I chuckled when I brought up your blog on my phone. It shows the first sentence or so of the last few posts, and the last three started with 'I finally got...':-)
