A little sunshine

Yes the rain turned to ice and now the walk is slippery…but we had some sunshine.

We almost had some color near sunset too.

I scraped on the ice some…where the snow fell off the roof and scared Chance…that snow is like cement….if I had a pick axe I might be able to budge it.  I hope for a melt…and that rain can stay away it is nothing but a headache.

Nothing is new…no big projects have been completed lately.  Same old same old…laundry, dusting, wonder what to cook and do up the dishes. We might be in a bit of a rut.

Far Guy has his Neurologist’s permission to decrease his Tegretol…he is down to one tablet a day now with hopes to be Tegretol free in a month.   The Aralast that he is infused with every week for his Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency has made a difference in his Trigeminal Neuralgia pain OR his Trigeminal Neuralgia is in remission after eight years.  We wish we knew which one was responsible.  From my perspective, I think Aralast could be a cure for Trigeminal Neuralgia pain…but I am not a medical researcher or even a Doctor… I am just  an observer.  Recently I read about a study being done with Tegretol as a medication to fight off the liver damage in Alpha 1 Patients.  I have a cousin who is in Medical Research, he is working on trying to find a researcher or two that might be interested in researching a connection with these two rare disorders.

  2. We have light snow falling on and off but the ground still seems warm and it doesn't stay and when it does it is just a dusting and the sun peeks out every now and then warmer temps and rain soon for us to , nah quiet here to . I hope Far guy gets some sort of break and pain relief and all works out well . Thanks for sharing , Have a good weekend !

  3. Happy to hear that Far Guys pain is getting better - that is very good news. No sunshine here just ryan/snow mix and wind. Our sidewalks are real icy and a lot of people don't shovel or put salt down so I'm having to walk in the street. Not a good thing - wish people were more considerate of "walkers". Hope you have a great weekend.

  4. A little bit of sunshine and a silver lining. You take them where and when you can get them. ;)
Hey--same old same old is a good thing. :)

  5. My dad was on several medications for his heart and aurtouritis (his pronunciation) and my mom would often suggest changes in his mess from her observations and she was almost always right. An in house observation pays more attention and sees even the smallest changes.

  6. I'm glad something is helping FG with that awful pain he experiences, and that he is able to get off rather than adding some meds. You may not be a doctor but as you say, you can see what's happening better than the doctor who isn't there. :-)

  7. So glad to read that FG has seen an improvement in is TN. Pain is so exhausting. Keep on keeping on. At least you take the time to check the sunsets. When My daughter was little I always called "Sunset!" and she knew it meant time to sit in my lap and look out the window. We lived in a 3rd floor apartment at the time and it had a picture window that faced west. Have a great day.

  9. I am glad that Far Guy can cut down on the Tegretol dosage. It would be wonderful if he could stop taking it. Hope this is a TN remission but it is hard to tell. Please keep up posted on this. Thanks.

    Glad your husband is improving.

  11. Have you checked out medical marijuana? It seems to be the growing treatment for many types of pain.

    1. No we have not, since his pain has all but disappeared we didn't need to. Besides that in Minnesota Trigeminal Neuralgia is not one of the medical conditions that are listed for medical mj use.

  13. Glad to hear Far Guy is getting relief from some of his health issues. The weather you have been getting sounds like this area's typical winter. We're not getting typical this year except for the up and down temperatures. I don't mind not getting rain and ice on top of snow. That is ugly weather.

  14. The medications you mention are unknown to me (I'm only an observer as well.) Sounds like a complex mix. I do hope you are right about the remission.
