I hate Daylight Saving Time. Most of our clocks just do their own thing and reset themselves…a few have to be turned manually. I wish it were as easy to set my inner clock…I will be all messed up for the next couple of weeks. I am just better off not looking at a clock and just do whatever I want whenever I feel like it.
I have always hated clocks anyway…time… what does it really do for you anyway…makes you a slave to a clock…never early, always rushing around late… uffda.
What did I do with my extra hour…well I got my vehicle all cleaned out and it’s windows washed. I also vacuumed up some of those terrible Asian Beetles in my garage. It took me more than an hour.
This week on Netflix I watched Black or White I give it a three out of five. The Journey Home which I give five out of five stars…my first Polar Bear movie…I wished I had watched it on a really warm day last summer. Right now I am binge watching a series on Netflix. My youngest daughter recommended it to me. It is from ABC called How To Get Away With Murder….interesting premise for a TV Show.
I have four more Woodcarved Christmas Ornaments to paint and then that project is done. Some have been hand delivered…I will get some of them ready to mail. I hope to finish this week! I am back to carving on some of my other projects until I figure out what the Christmas Ornament is for 2016.
My Scarecrow
Fall Work yet to do: Put away the patio table and clean up Far Guys Vehicle…the list is getting smaller.
I wonder if anyone likes the time switching back and forth. Like the Facebook post I saw this week. A Native American saying something like this..It's like trying to get a longer blanket by cutting off one end and sewing the piece back on at the other end.
ReplyDeleteI think as we age we all feel that switching time back and forth is a real pain in the neck. It's not about changing a physical clock back and forth but the changing of our internal clock that screws us up. Pauline's quote is how I feel. I don't gain or lose an hour because I both gain AND lose an hour (they just get rearranged). Oh well, in a couple of weeks my internal clock should be settled down.
ReplyDeleteWell, you know how I feel about it all, I hate it too. But I'll be all right, and so will you. Glad you found something productive to do with your "extra" hour. I'll be walking to the bus in daylight this morning, a plus. :-)
ReplyDeleteI stay confused most of the time anyway and the time change doesn't help matters. Like this morning. I woke up at 3:43, wide awake and thought, I can't get up this early...then I thought, oh it's okay, it's really 4:43. We had the clock set to alarm at 4:30.
ReplyDeleteWhat, you didn't sleep that extra hour?:) What I get sick of hearing is the same old things they talk about on the radio at this time of the year, how the time change affects this and that. One guy even talked about more accidents because of less daylight. Huh? Idiot. Same amount of daylight, just lighter earlier and darker earlier. I know he was meaning that it is darker for the evening commute, but then it is lighter for the morning commute, so that should make that safer. No one seems to mention that. At this time of the year I like the extra lightness in the morning. It gets me up and moving a bit earlier:)
ReplyDeleteOur 3 little dogs are still on Daylight Saving Time. I don't think they like the changing times either. Their inner clock says it is too early to eat and go to bed. I share their dislike. Setting stove and microwave clocks is a big pain for me. Some years I didn't get my car clock set for weeks.

I enjoyed the Polar Bear movie when it was out. Don't have NetFlix as yet....don't have enough time to even watch regular programming.
ReplyDeleteI much rather live and work and breathe on Daylight Savings time. It will take me a month to adjust....

I wish our state would stop doing the clock thing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we need it now. Did they start it for framers way back when?
Since we live in a land of street lights and electricity - we no longer need Daylight Savings time. Of course our dysfunctional government will never be able to "get rid of it."
ReplyDeleteThe change in time doesn't really bother me. However I can understand that for many people the change. is difficult. I don't wear a watch. Since being a teacher for 37 years and controlled by the bell, the first thing I did in retirement was to throw the watch away.
ReplyDeleteI hate the time changes. It's bad enough that we have to deal with really short days during the winter months, but shifting the darkness from morning to evening only makes it worse. Leave it one way and let people adjust their schedules to suit their needs. Hmm. And I think my annual November funk is setting in. Time to increase the anti-depressants, perhaps.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for the daylight in the morning now. But not happy about it getting dark earlier.... Cute scarecrow!
ReplyDeleteOkay, no need to add my two cents about the time change. NO ONE likes it. I do like your scarecrow though.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you will keep it from snowing so soon with you getting all those jobs done. I need to start doing more but am booked at school all week. I do like the scarecrow.
ReplyDeleteThe switch is easier for me in the fall than in the spring it seems. I'm not sure why. I just have to wait for my stomach to readjust to waiting an extra hour for meals and then I am fine. One of the privileges of being retired is not having to live by clocks much anymore.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the time and my animals don't change their supper time regardless. They talked on the news the other night that it is hard on people's inner clock and they see up ticks in heart attacks and other anxiety diseases and stressors when the time changes. I don't pay much attention to it anymore because I don't have to unless there's something I want to watch on t.v. LOL!
ReplyDeleteIs your list the same each year as to Fall chores or does it change? You are the most efficient person I know and so organized. Hand carved ornaments already done? You're amazing! Thanks for the movie recommendations!
Howdy! I just saw a comment you left on Granny Marigold's blog. You mentioned being from Minnesota and the Jack Pine Savage contest. I'm from the Park Rapids, MN area. Wondered if we're neighbors. We have a JPS contest, too, but maybe it's a statewide thing?

Our clocks went back a couple of weeks ago... ugh! It means it's pitch black by five pm - that by 7 pm, it feels like midnight!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah...Christmas ornaments! You had so many of them completed so early, I forgot: it's for Christmas. See? There's something you're not late for ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on hating DST and the Black or White movie. I haven't watched the other two.
ReplyDeleteOrnaments almost done. You are early for that, anyways. :)
Have a good week.
The cats (and I) are all mixed up with sleeping and eating with the time change. Congrats on the finished Christmas ornaments. Wishing you guys a nice day. xo
ReplyDeleteLike your scarecrow photo....
