Lilacs

What is your favorite..old fashioned lilac Lilacs?

Lilacs in town May 14

Or old fashioned white Lilacs?

White Lilacs

The Lilacs in town are blooming now.  Far Guy’s Lilac has not bloomed yet.

I cannot decide which one I like more.. six of one half a dozen of the other.

I have Saturday off!!  Far Guy is working for me today..I am going to wear my jammies most of the day and have two naps..and do laundry and cook for the working man!  Reminder to self: set alarm to interrupt late afternoon nap so you can begin cooking and whilst you are at it..cooks something easy that looks like it took all day to prepare!  :)

  1. I like lilac-colored old fashioned lilacs, you know, light purple. They are my favorite and are in bloom here, too. Have a nice day off!

  2. I put my vote in for the lilac Lilacs....two votes if they smell sweet. (Our bush has no odor)
LOL at your plan for the day. Especially the part about making it look like you slaved away all day! I won't tell!

  3. Lilacs are blooming in profusion here. I like the dark purple lilacs, I'm hoping I can get someone to let me dig up some offshoots so I can plant them by my gate. A good trick to make someone think you've been cooking all day is to fry some onions just before they get home, then make something easy like spaghetti and salad. Have a great weekend!

  5. I don't care what color they are just as long as they have that wonderful scent! Hot dogs on the grill sound good! Easy, some chips, pickles for a vegetable and ice cream for dessert.....easy/peasy! With guys it's more quantity than quality. LOL! That can apply to other areas too...well it did with my ex's anyway... I was quality but they preferred quantity if you get my drift! LOL! I think Far Guy is the exception though...he's tried and true! Enjoy your naps!

  9. Purple Lilacs have always been my favorite. You go girl on the pamper yourself day, I was actually thinking of taking a nap myself! I did it, Connie! I have all A's but one B+, which gave me a 3.86 GPA.

  13. I like them both, but I found that the purple ones seemed to have more scent. Or maybe it was just the white lilacs I smelled. Hope you had a restful day and are feeling totally well. :)

  14. I can honestly say Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers (that is, after the Hyacinths bloom and before the Lilies). I love the deep purple ones, but fell in love with this white one - it buds palest pink but opens up to white. I actually bought it - all my other lilacs I got as suckers from other people's plants.

  17. I will take lilacs of any color as long as they are fragrant and I have a least one dark purple in the yard. I have two 'Krasavitsa Moskvy' and I love them to death, they are just starting out in their career down at the cutting garden. I have an unnamed blue variety and deep beet purple along with a couple who are too young to bloom yet and so who knows what they are. The lilacs down at the cutting garden, except for the Moskvy are either rescue lilacs or sprigs that they gave away at the nursery sale and have now grown up. In the back yard I have a Sensation tucked into my mock orange. It is pretty to look at but I always expect a little more fragrance out of it than it gives. It is just now really putting out the blooms. It should be at the cutting garden, but I have to have something at the house I suppose. And just because it is up here doesn't mean it can't get cut.
