Wistful Wednesday: 1970
These are a couple of my cousins, they are lucky kids, they were adopted by my Uncle Adolph and Aunt Lila back in the late 1960's. They were much waited for babies. My Uncle and Aunt built a brand new house in preparation for their first baby's arrival..I do not remember if they knew that they were getting a little boy..I just remember a huge baby shower and two new parents beaming with pride. His sister followed a few years later. This photograph makes me smile every time I look at it..it was taken about forty years ago..A Paramedic/Fireman and a Hair Stylist/Teachers Assistant :)
Well, I'm diggin' the hair style she's sportin' in this photo! What fun to play in the mud, what joy to be children well loved.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing for all of them. Such a sweet picture.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a priceless picture! I remember playing in the mud, I loved it unless it ended up in my eyes. Or mouth.
ReplyDeleteHeeeehehehe! Love it, this pic reminds me of my two after they would had mud-ball fights. Yep, ya heard me right....I'd hose the little darlings down before I'd let them back into the house. ...I'm just that kinda mom.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day sweetie!!!

ReplyDeleteThey look as if they are having great fun splashing in that mud and water!
ReplyDelete(And I love that old barn in the background too.)
What wonderful memories! I love looking at old photos and remembering the people and the place and time and this one is especially precious.
ReplyDeleteWhat little cuties they were playing in the mud. It must have been a special time for your aunt and uncle when they welcomed them into their lives.
ReplyDeleteEmma Rose, Yes they live nearby..within 20 miles or so..both have families of their own:)
ReplyDeleteI really love this picture!!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good mud puddle to keep you busy for hours! My aunt and uncle waited ten years and never could get pregnant so they waited to adopt a boy and then a girl...and then my aunt had surprise twin boys! I remember the excitement when the calls finally came for the adopted babies arrivals. :)
