Wistful Wednesday : 1918

I am often drawn into some of these old photographs by the animals. This old dog seems to have been a very faithful friend to the two little boys. How in the world did they get the dog up into the chair? Then there is the old chair, I have five of these old chairs. I would not have ever thought that mine would date back this far, but maybe they do. The two little boys are Far Guys Father and Far Guys Uncle Ronald. This photograph is 91 years old, that struck me like a ton of lead when I was looking through my old photographs. Such a long time ago...:)

  2. Oh, and I forgot, some of my readers are having problems with being able to post. Word verification is not coming up for them in blogger. I was thinking about dropping the word verification, are you having any problems without it? But remember that I still have that spammer nasty guy all the time.

  3. I've seen pictures of my dad (who'd be 94 if her were still alive) wearing those little dresses they used to put on small boys. So much has changed....

  4. What a neat old photo. Don't you wonder why the dog is in the chair and not the little fellow? Funny story about the old chair too. Funny how the clothes, props and surroundings mean so much in the very old photos.

  5. What I noticed first was that the one boy has a jacket, gloves and warm hat on and the other child is coatless and bareheaded. Too funny.

  6. Just wanted to drop by and say, I am having a go at no word verification. It might end up being temporary if that nasty spammer guy gets into it.

Let's see how it goes, and hopefully this makes it easier for you.

  8. I have a chair identical to that one. I was told that it was a dining room chair that belonged to my great-grandparents. It had to be from the late 1800's because my grandmother died in 1964 when she was 85. There were a bunch of those chairs and my mother put 4 of them on a train to Montana in the 1950's to send them to her brother but they got lost somewhere and never arrived. I think my brother in Pittsburg has one too. He is the family historian. That is very interesting.
