Progress on Projects

I finished painting the last of the Christmas ornaments and a few more have been delivered.  One of these days I will have a wrapping and packaging party!

I finalized the Christmas card design for this year.   I like it very much...but it will be time consuming.  I have been working on it while watching TV...it is a stamped watercolor card.

Far Guy is wood carving roses...he may have to move from the garage into the greenhouse/woodshop where it is warmer.

I updated the Winter Survival Tote in the car and got out the ice scrapers.  I have yet to refresh the snacks in the red coffee can in the tote...that will happen soon.  I need to buy some hand warmers.  We have extra mittens, a hooded sweatshirt and a quilt...and the red coffee can that I am updating.

Sadly I brought in the outdoor dog water dishes...probably no visiting dogs for a bit.

Minnesota Weather: High 59F  or 15C   Low 31F or -1C  It rained.

  1. Hope you have a great last week of October. Thankfully, we’ve had much cooler temperatures this week with lows in the upper 40’s. RHill, TX

  2. For you it is time to get ready for winter. For us we might finally need our rain coats.
It's out family cider bee today. Thankfully I am feeling mostly better.

  3. You sound energetic and 'on top of things'! You have a list and are checking it off. It feels good when there is time to do that. Very thankful to hear this great report.

  4. Good reminder - I need to put the winter gear back in my car too. The blankets never came out, but the little bin with the extra gloves/hat and other stuff is sitting on a shelf where it isn't very useful.

  5. You can bet your mittens, that cold will come your way soon. You have lots to do to get ready.
All i have in my car for survival is an extra cane. I never know when my knee will go out. I’m never ready for what is coming. Good thing i don't live in the north country.I fly by the seat of my pants. And…i don't even know why that phrase is used!

  6. BRRR! It was -7C/19F this a.m. here and I'm getting more eager everyday to head to warmer weather.
You and Far Guy do such lovely crafting. Enjoy the process...and the completion.

  8. You guys seem to run circles around us!
We don't seem to get as much done as we would like to anymore but we did get some things thrown away in the garage and old potted plants dumped
Now for the next fifty things. Ugh
I love reading at night but I'm out of books so maybe I'll look for one of those last ones mentioned.

  9. You know how to be prepared for Winter road travel! I keep a blanket, gloves and headband in my truck year round. That is it for me. Don't use them much in Winter, but they have come in handy at grandkid soccer games etc. Mostly as loaners.

    Progress on Projects is good!!

  12. I remember my Brownies days and the motto, Be Prepared. Do they even have Brownies any more? Hmmm.
Prepping for winter around here has mostly to do with getring horses, gardens and vehicles all set up, and putting away the sumner footwear and jackets.
    I am ready!
