I am almost done with my Mosaic Crochet "Hush". I did not make my goal of a finish in May, hopefully it will be a June finish. Fingers crossed.
Since Mosaic crochet is worked one row at a time from right to left one row/yarn color at a time there are many ends to tie.
Those tied ends are sticking up and the envelope border has been worked but not closed yet.
Here I folded it over so you can see how it looks as a finished border.
I have already decided what will replace this project...and it involves using up a considerable amount of left overs from other projects.
I ran errands while Far Guy had his infusion yesterday, the usual grocery pick up at Walmart and a quick trip into Aldi and even a quicker trip into Hugos. Gas for the car was $2.99 a gallon but if you told the cashier it was your lucky day you got 15 cents off every gallon. A little old lady passed that info onto me...and I in turn passed it onto a young lady with lots of kids in her car.
Supper was a ham sandwich and cherries.
Minnesota Weather: High 71F or 22C Low was 47F or 9C eh! It spit rain in the morning.
I mowed the yard in the afternoon and killed some corn field ants..the buggers.
Far Side
I push mowed that side of my road even though it was 89 because weather shows rain til next Tuesday. I got it done. We’re getting and Aldis. I’m going to try to buy some from them each week. We have Walmart and Kroger. I don’t really shop at Walmart except just to pick up something I need.

ReplyDeleteI have never done an envelope border but that is a great idea for hiding those fiddley ends isn't it? We're on the road again today heading to Kentucky. It's HUMID here. The campgrounds have no electricity, therefore no AC. We do have a portable battery that lets us run a fan at night. I'm miserable. Trying to enjoy, but it's difficult when you're miserable. We may not stay the entire reserved time at Mammoth Cave next week. We'll see.

ReplyDeleteI had to do a quick calculation on the fuel price. We're paying $1.349 per liter, which is approximately $5.10 per gallon in CDN, or about $3.60 in USD. I did get happen to be at Costco last week and picked up gas at $1.129 which was a terrific savings. It was nice you were able to get the discount!
I bet you will be glad when it is finished. That is a lot of fussy ends! Using up supplies is always a positive. I love the gas discount!

ReplyDeleteThe colors in your crochet project made me think of hot lava. Really pretty! I'm sure working all those ends into it Our local grocery gives "points" for certain purchases each week. Dave was pretty excited to find 90 cents per gallon discount the other day. I had purchased a lot of groceries last month I guess.

We have an Aldi's close to us, too. That is where I buy the English cucumbers for our salads. They are ninety-five cents. In Publix - they are close to three dollars. I am not sure of the Wal-Mart price for them.
I will let you know the price of gas next time I fill up.
Is your husband feeling better - - - not worse anyway. How is his weight gain progressing?
Our big meal is at lunch. Today is boneless cubed chicken breast cooked in Sweet Baby Ray's Vidalia Onion BBQ Sauce, Yellow Corn, and Sweet Kale Salad by Taylor Farms - - prepackaged with dressing, raisins, and pine nuts or little pumpkin seeds or something like that. Easy peasy prep for this one.
I just did a poison spray for plants by the back basement door - - 1 gallon white vinegar, one cup salt, and some Dawn. It works on the weeds that are less hardy but will hardly touch poison ivy.
Apparently cornfield ants are prevalent in the south coastal regions of B.C.
