Sun bursts and dogs

On Sunday afternoon I headed over to flippin' happy home and more decor.  It is a small shop on Washington over in Grand Forks North Dakota.  It is where Jen consigns her artwork and some of my crochet items...she was working and the shop owner was there and gave me permission to take some photos.

This is the piece that I helped Jen paint a few days ago.  It is just beautiful!

I will be showing photos of the shop from time to time...it is an interesting place.

It snowed here and then turned cold.

The sundogs were out.  Here is a photo of one sundog.  They almost always signal really cold weather.

Stay warm!

  1. Nice work! Beautiful!
Cold here, we aren't above 0 F. So yes, we went from cold to pretty cold.
I'm doing some Finger Looping yarn stuff! I find it pretty enjoyable. I made 3 little softy cuddle blankets for some little ones and a grand daughter. Thought some soft would be fun to carry around?
    :)
    Busy hands and all that!

  2. That's great she has found an affordable place to sell her handmade items. Around here, I cannot. They want rent fee, on top of a percentage of your sale, and crochet work takes a lot of time and yarn is much more expensive today. I wish I could find an affordable outlet. I would have a lot to sell ha ha! Beautiful artwork by the way.

  5. I just learned about sun dogs. I guess cold rainbows.

It’s nice she has a place to show her items and make a little money. I love the painting you helped create.

  6. I think it would be fun to wander through that store. Jen's piece is beautiful. I haven't seen a sundog in years even though it's been cold here. Very cool.

  10. That painting is beautiful! We got about 2" of snow and it is also cold here, but I'm sure it's colder up there.

  11. Jen's work is beautiful. The one you helped paint is especially beautiful. We got about an inch of snow on Thursday. Then Saturday it was 40 degrees and raining, so everything is brown again.

  13. Lovely painting, and the wood pieces are stunning too.
It's cool here too - which surprised me. It was down to 48F when I awoke this morning. But it was definitely warmer than back at home.

  16. These are beautiful pieces! I've been looking for different ideas to fit within my rustic home decor and I love the first one with the stained pieces of wood. This is giving me so many ideas! Thanks so much for sharing!

  17. You are right. Jen's work is beautiful. Interesting to see the sun dog. I have only seen sun dogs one winter. Usually our area doesn't get cold enough. The year I saw them I was driving Tom to work.
