We had a great day, it was 39 F or 4 C eh...got gas in the car ($2.59 a gallon...$2.47 with my coupon)and got it washed. Ran some errands and made some scalloped potatoes for supper, Andy put a ham in the smoker...it was a really good meal. No one joined me in eating vegetables...Far Guy ate two peas...go figure I am the only one who like peas in this house. I will have peas for lunch:)
Last week I bought this box to hold scrubbies and the small pouches I crochet.
They fit perfectly! The box is good sized and full so I am all caught up with those projects for now.
very pretty little pouches....ooh scalloped potatoes..my grandmother used to make them often...
ReplyDeleteNice! Did you crochet the zipper bags I see on top?
ReplyDeleteyes
DeleteI have one of your scrubbies by my sink. It is a great thing to use on my pots.
ReplyDeleteI love peas. Really I like nearly all food. I don’t like pasta foods that much but I can eat it.. Scallop potatoes sound really good.
ReplyDeleteThe little bags you created are unique. The covers reminder of tapestry.
I still use your scrubbies, they are awesome.
ReplyDeleteNothing like them!
We are going to have a warmer day today!
I am the only one who likes peas too. I like them raw and not cooked though.
YUM...your meal sounds so delicious and you had two of my favs...Peas and scalloped potatoes. 39 is still pretty cold, but I'm sure a relief for you all. those are the neatest crocheted bags and they look so NICE>. What talent you do have!!!
ReplyDeleteI like that sign - - - Finished is better than perfect! It would. be appropriate in this house for sure!
ReplyDeleteI hated peas when all we had as a child were canned. Then at sometime my mother started buying frozen vegetables and I found I like them! The dinner sounds really good to me. You got warmer than we did, but it's 32 F this morning.
ReplyDeleteYou're warmer than we are - It's -10C right now and is supposed to stay the same for the next week.
ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to say, "I had peas for dessert.
ReplyDeleteScalloped potatoes and ham sounds delicious. Dennis love peas but me? Not so much. I like most other vegetables. I love those little boxes. I have several in the camper that just fit in the cabinets. Some hold card games, others tape, velcro, etc. Kind of like a junk drawer. We have bright sunshine today and a predicted high of near 50! Saturday is supposed to b -4F. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Gasoline runs between $2.69-$2.89 a gallon here in Yuma. I did fill up my friends' truck before they left to return to Phoenix, but otherwise I'm not having to buy gas which is nice!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy peas as well, and tonight's dinner is baked chicken, mashed potatoes and peas. It's probably dinner for another night as well...cooking for one is an interesting assignment for me. At home with my son, I serve up what I want, then he takes the rest. :)
Your zippered bags are so cute! Perhaps one day I'll have the gumption to try making something like that.
LOVE your scrubbies! That is a pretty box for your pouches. I am not a fan of peas by themselves, but have them in my stew. In England they eat mushy peas. I always have wondered if mashing them could make them any better--lol! ;)
ReplyDeleteAround here it's myself that takes the requisite tablespoon of peas! Reading other comments one could almost conclude that in most situations one person isn't as fond of them as the other :)
ReplyDeleteI had an old ham hock in the freezer and decided it was time to make lentil soup, which I have not made for many years. That's my project for today on this gray and cold foggy day.
ReplyDeleteWe are paying 5.66 gallon in Canada. Most of it tax of course. We are trying to clean up leftovers in the refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteTwo peas!?
ReplyDeleteyes he ate just two peas:)
DeleteA very pretty box to hold the scrubbies. We have a lovely spring day here in SD - although it’s still January. This has been such a weird winter. I would have gladly shared the peas with you. My husband always said he hated peas, but his mom always made canned peas and they were mushy. I’ve probably not bought canned peas in 50 years. So he’ll eat fresh or frozen peas.
ReplyDeleteYour supper sounds yummy! I like peas too! What a pretty box!
ReplyDeleteI'm the only pea eater here. Nothing better fresh from the garden but I can do the frozen ones too.
