There are Yellow Lady Slippers along our driveway, this year there are four blooms.

Such a pretty flower...one of my favorites!

Peach had a cake!  So she is officially one!  Jen shared this photo with us.

  11. The lady slippers are one of my favorite wildflowers too. I've not seen in yellow in our area, though I keep looking. They are pink here.

  12. They are one of the coolest flowers! It is always a treat to see one as they grow so randomly in the wild.

  18. I remember Ladyslippers growing wild in Manitoba. They were yellow; I don't know if any pink ones grew in our area.

  23. I saw my first ladyslipper in person last January in London. My daugher-in-law took me to an apothecary garden that has been in existence since the early 1600's. It's where the doctors back then grew their medicine. It was fascinating and I really enjoyed it. But it had ladyslippers growing in January. So pretty.
Peach is a doll and that cake is really pretty. It looks like she had a wonderful time smashing it! First birthdays are always really special.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
