Time goes on

Yesterday Far Guy and I put up some No Trespassing signs and we went to recycle. AND just like that the day was over.  Pretty soon the day will be over before we drag ourselves out of bed.

There was some snow in the air yesterday...if you look real hard you can see some of the glorious white stuff amongst the leaves.  It probably wasn't enough to be called a second snow.

Ranger Blue needs a new battery...so that is a project for today.  I hear it will cost just one arm and one leg or 69 skeins of my favorite yarn.

  1. Oh dear, that sounds very expensive.
We had more snow here yesterday. Thought I wouldn't need to clear the driveway, I was wrong.

  2. We got a dusting of snow on Saturday afternoon. Just enough to slow down traffic on our drive home from Sioux Falls after the granddaughters' swim meet. It was worse heading south from SF. There were a couple of bad accidents going south. We saw one car in the ditch going west.

  3. And then the days will start to lengthen and the sun will return. I guarantee it. :-)

  4. 2nd snow already? It's just warming up for the big one! I have to go bring my plants in, cover the outside faucets and bring the hoses in....we're going below freezing tonight and every night this week! Very early for down here. The heaters on!

  6. I turned the heat on here. It was 43 last night. I wanted to make it until November, but it was just too cold.

  7. I dread the time change---I wish it would stay one or the other.

  8. I hope you find the battery you need. Sounds like an investment! But with the way you two love Ranger Blue, at least you will get every penny you can out of it. :)

We have snow coming again this afternoon. Been so cold we have never lost all of the mere inch of snow we got last week. I hope it is pretty to watch coming down, at least.

  9. I'm sorry. I had to laugh at the last paragraph. But batteries ARE expensive. We just had to buy two for the camper earlier this month. Not fun. I'd much rather buy yarn.
We got about the same dusting of snow yesterday as you did. You could see it on the roof tiles and amongst the leaves on the ground when we left for church. But it is cold. Very cold for the end of October.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  10. I like the early dark! I know I'm a minority in that.

  11. I hope that battery for Ranger Blue isn't too damaging to your budget.

  12. Batteries are expensive: a friend just spent over $200 for one to put in her car.

  13. Get up later, shut down sooner. The dark days are almost here.

  14. We have had snow on and off here in SD for a few days now. Just a trace on the ground at the moment, that will not last long.

  15. We like to grumble about the cost of everything. Then we say - it is what it is. The Blue Ranger is worth it!!!
We were almost 80 degrees last week. Our first snowfall is tomorrow.

  17. I got a new battery for my truck and it starts so great. My dad taught me to get a new battery rather than continually mess with charging. No snow here yet. Lots of wind.
