Tiny Mistakes

I started a new project, first transferring stamped images to dish towels, and then embroidering them.

I was rocking the project and then bam...some small words were transferred with my image.  Huh...well ya big dummy everything that is in the image will transfer with the heat of your iron.

Oh well I can always use it myself ...or cover it up.

Some little cross stitches covered it up quite nicely.

  1. I've done the same thing but scratched the project, not having your imagination to cover it up. I'm normally good at follwing directions, but not so good at thinking outside of the box.
Your stitching is lovely and I really like the image.

  2. Do you mean the little line at the top? Could turn it into a flower. 🙂

  3. Do the transfers wash out? I haven't done any of this type of embroidery in years. This is a pretty dish towel.

  4. Sandi yet the little lines at the top are my blue cross stitches to cover up the words. Sara, No they do not wash out, they say that they will fade in time in the sunlight.

  5. Very smart of you to make the adjustment. I probably would have scrapped the project, like others have said. No one would know if you hadn't told us. :)

  6. No one will ever know . . . It’s a design enhancement.

  7. I use heat transfer's all the time. When you wash them the lines all disappear

  12. I love embroidered tea towels! So cute and I thought the blue was part of the design. Thinking about words that transfer - I saw a short video on facebook where some college guys dyed their hair white blonde and had to cover the dye with a plastic bag. One boy used an orange bag from home depot. Not only was his hair orange, but it also said Home Depot in reverse :)
