The Oaks.
Oaks kinda turn brownish and then fall to the ground. They were a little golden for a day or two.
Fall colors for the next afghan project. Far Guy is helpful and winds the yarn into balls for me. I would rather work from a ball of yarn than run into a tangled mess inside a skein.
I enjoyed lunch with long time friend Susie yesterday! We had a good time!

Love those colors! When I worked with yarn, I always made balls of yarn too. I hated those tangled messes!
ReplyDeleteOur oaks are dropping acorns like crazy! The leaves are starting to turn different shades of brown and red on them too.

ReplyDeleteOur oaks here turn the same way although not yet. Right now there are some red spots on them...very pretty but not for long. Here the prettiest colors seem to be the weeds....lol! That is so nice of Far Guy to wind all that yarn...what a guy...actually what a Far Guy!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty fall colors in those yarns. We don't have any oak trees, but the ash are beginning to turn already. The turn bright gold and then drop almost immediately. Our yard has 50+ trees, mostly ash, various types of maple, and pine trees.
ReplyDeletePretty yarn! I don't have oaks on my property. I live in a softwood woodland. The maple and ash are turning. The elms and boxelders just go brown. It's nice to spend time with a friend.

ReplyDeleteThat's some pretty yarn. I've been working more from balls lately too. It seems most of the skeins have a tangled mess in them anymore. Dennis untangles them quite a bit for me too. He kind of enjoys the puzzle. We have some good guys. I just don't have the patience.

It does seem odd that after all these years no company has figured out how to sell balls of yarn. They almost inevitably get tangled clumps inside.

ReplyDeleteIt’s hot here again. I’m crocheting a project but it’s too hot to work on it. A long time friend is a treasure. Old friends are like gold.
ReplyDeleteWe drove through a lot of forest these last days, around Mt Rainier and throngs the coast range. Fall color is just beginning here, but the scarlet vine maples lit everything up.

The yarn colors are beautiful. Lunch with an old friend sounds wonderful...but mine live 400 miles away....no, make that probably 350 now.
