Finally got around to mowing. The grass really grew after the rains.
It looks much better now. It is not a perfect lawn but it is green:)
Right now I have two baskets of flowers that belong to Jen.
Far Guy picked them out for her and hopefully we can keep them alive and away from critters for her.
I do not have any flowers this year...the squirrels, rabbits and deer ...
I have a garden of metal art and solar lights....no need to water...
It works for me.

ReplyDeleteAs my flowers die, I do not add them back. Mowing around everything is all I can get done. Your yard looks green and pretty.

ReplyDeleteThe only perfect lawns I see are the artificial ones. And even those eventually have weeds. New sod looks good for awhile too, but mother nature always wins.

We finally got some rain yesterday...probably from over your way. It rained pretty much all day but I doubt we got an inch total. The grass appreciated what it could get though and today is cold and cloudy, so nothing is baking in the heat of summer. Yet. I like your garden of lights!

ReplyDeleteI would be so happy with green. My lawn is brown. I have let three flower beds be absorbed by nature. It bothered me at the time but not anymore. You self-care garden looks good to me.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to see the green grass! I thought I wasn't going to be tending flowers this year but I have one more summer...or most of a summer, anyways. Plan to sell the planters in July or August. With all the critters you have chewing up your flowers I think the lights look pretty darn good. ;) You have enough on your hands. Less work is a good thing...and your yard looks like a perfect view to just rest and gaze upon. :)

ReplyDeleteYes - - we too share vegetation with all those critters, too. I planted geraniums and marigolds this year since they are not supposed to like them. We shall see.
Some of my perennials didn’t survive the winter. I’ve replaced them twice before and decided not to do that this year.

ReplyDeleteThe flower baskets are beautiful. Jen will love them. Your lawn looks lush and green....ours is turning brown. You have gotten rain but we have gotten just a tiny bit. It is in the forecast today and tomorrow...but today is almost gone and so far....no rain.
ReplyDeleteWe've had some rain recently too and I love to lay in bed and listen to it. Everything is so green now, just like your beautiful yard. I think your little garden is perfect. Low labor too.

The squirrels have been wreaking havoc on Edible Alley here... but I do feed them peanuts, so it's probably my fault, lol

ReplyDeleteI planted a whole lot of giant sunflowers this year, hopefully they will have nice big seed heads so that the birds will have winter munchies.

I think the deer finally discovered my pansies....they were gorgeous and now they're gone!
