Our Fathers are both gone now. I was really lucky to have my Dad for 71 Father's Days. Not many people can say that.

Far Guy only got to have his Dad for 44 Father's Days.

Yes we could be sad because they are gone...instead I chose to be thankful for the years we had them in our lives. Both wonderful Fathers who did the best they could.

ReplyDeleteI so agree with your statement - I too, am grateful that I had 49 years with my Dad. It has been 15 years this fall since he passed and I treasure all the memories we made over the years.
ReplyDeleteOur fathers are both long gone but not forgotten. Now Tom, the father of our children, is aging at 81. He's still going a lot stronger than I am, though, and still very much a part of the lives of his kids and grand kids.

ReplyDeleteMy dad had so many struggles in life and I have to remember to think of the things that made him happy and laugh. When I look at your photo of four I can see why you call them baby brother and the other baby brother. I am glad they live close to you.
