Mosaic Crochet

I finished part nine of the Nordic Mosaic.  It was called Skadi Hills...Skadi is the Nordic Goddess of winter, hunting, skiing and mountains.

It was a fun pattern to work.

I had enough cream color yarn to work the back part of the border but will have to wait for my yarn to come before the front envelope border can be finished.   All the ends have been tied and trimmed in preparation for the last five decorative rows on the front border.

In the meantime I took out Winter Wonderland a Mosaic project that I have been working on for quite some time.  I began in November of 2021. Uffda.  I found the pattern, the proper hook ...I keep fairly good notes about which hook I used...I write the hook size right on the pattern!

So I have something to work on while waiting for a yarn delivery.

The big Winter storm seems to be going south of us....we will get the below zero weather instead.

  1. Glad the big storm seems to be going south of you. Have fun with the crochet projects.

And sorry I haven't been here in a while. Been having issues with post notifications not showing up, and keep forgetting to manually go and check for new posts on the blogs of those I follow.

  2. Glad to hear you should escape the worst of this storm. We have had high winds all night, but no snow. Lots of rain, though.

  3. Awesome. I want to be Skadi!
I'm not Nordic but I have Danish heritage, perhaps that is why I love winter?
    Who knows?

  4. It's beautiful. Always nice to have a project to work on while waiting on more yarn or craft supplies. Anxious to see it progress. Stay warm, glad to hear the storm may pass you by.

  5. Beautiful - both projects!! We're getting your snow, and the wind and cold.

  6. Both blankets are beautiful and take such skill. I sure admire them and you. The storm is going about 30 miles north of us. It is such a hard line with this storm. We "might" get 1-3 inches but 30 miles north could have 24 inches! So it looks like the storm is right in between us. We'll have the below zero weather too but not for long. 50's are predicted by the weekend.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

Very, very, very cold here today. I do hope it doesn't reach you.

  11. Both are so intricate! Looking forward to seeing them done. So pretty!
Looks like the storm might be mostly south of us here, too. So another blizzard that is mostly cold, cold wind and little actual fresh snow, I think. Stay warm!

  12. Another beautiful pattern. We are supposed to get hit with snow and wind. Below zero overnight. Since I'm Minnesotan I get to be honorary Norse!

  13. Those Skadi Hills make me think of Switzerland.
The Winter Wonderland project looks wonderful too.
We had a little snow here this morning as our cold front begins to move in. It's up to 37 now, but our furnace is being worked on right now and it's blowing cold air. shiver.

  15. I love all your mosaic work...they are all beautiful. It's funny, we are both working with red and cream colors. Glad you are missing the snow but the cold isn't fun either. It's raining here but no storm.

  16. I love watching your blankets "grow". They are beautiful. They storm may miss you (lucky you!) but we are in for 8-12 inches of snow tonight. I don't mind though... no where to go, we got all our errands done today and we have nowhere to be til my hair appointment on Friday afternoon. I'm just hoping that we don't lose power because of the heavy snow and ice.

  17. Beautiful crochet patterns. Snow, blowing snow, and bitter windchills have kept me inside today - my errands can wait.

  18. I heard MN is getting two feet of snow. Glad the storm is missing you. Good idea to have a backup project, or three. Hope your yarn arrives soon. Delivery seems to take longer these days.

  19. Snow or very cold. I don’t like the choice. Well, guess we don’t choose the weather.
