I finally finished a shawl. I have had it in the works for a long time...it is brainless crochet and I can do it while watching TV there is not much to count in the pattern. Caron Make A Point Crochet Shawl
It is Caron Latte Cakes in the colorway Horizon Blue which is machine washable and dryable so it makes a great donation shawl....or one to gift. The pattern calls for a fringe but I am not doing that fussy work.
Last week I brought more of the same kind of yarn so as soon as I was finished I enlisted my chief yarn winder. The color is Red Macaron. I will begin another in the same pattern.
I would call it peach something instead of red something. I like my yarn in balls...and my chief yarn winder likes projects....he was taking a break from his wood carving.
Far Side
A beautiful shawl...
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I have been married for 50yrs...love your blog.
hugs
Donna
Nice that he does that for you!
ReplyDeleteThankfully I found something that my hubby likes to do. Sort pieces.
A neighbor gave him a tiny little 3D set to build and he was busy for hours sorting!
Love the shawl, so beautiful!
It looks so soft. It's lovely, so I'm sure whoever receives it will love it.
ReplyDeleteI actually bought a shawl last fall while shopping with my sister. It was at an excellent price. I use it occasionally as a quick wrap around the house when I don't want an entire blanket. They are handy items for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty shawl. I have a crochet shawl for charity started in a bag. I set it aside to make a sweater for myself, although I don't think I'll have it done before I leave. The yarn for both of your shawls are really nice. It looks so cozy and soft, I know it will be loved.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Wonderful finish - the shawl is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEven though it is easy to do it is a great pattern. I like the blues and the rows of colors. I have just boxed up afghans in two boxes to ship to my first cousins. I need to get rid of more from the pile of my mom's work.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely shade of blue. Looks very soft and warm.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out very nice!! Good job, Connie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shawl. I would like to crochet but never got past the chain stitch.
ReplyDeleteI like it! You both win. Chief winder gets a project and you get your yarn in balls.
ReplyDeleteGreat having an assistant!
ReplyDeleteI really like the shawl colours!
It's good to have yarn winder.:-)
ReplyDeleteThe shawl looks so soft and cozy. Love the color.
Pretty blue shawl. Looks cozy.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I like them better without the fringe, actually.
ReplyDeleteFarGuy is truly your perfect partner. ;)
I like my yarn in balls too. I used to LOVE working on one piece projects in the winter when I lived in the UP of Michigan, kept my lap warm in the drafty older homes I lived in up there!
ReplyDeleteHow does he get the ball started> Or does he wind it around a tennis ball? I have always thought the balls tangled easily, but they must work for you.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely yarn! The shawl looks so cozy and comfy. What a beautiful project.
ReplyDeleteThat shawl turned out beautiful! I bet that keeps Far Guy busy! We had a nice (seemed warmer) weekend and the sun shine!
ReplyDeleteI think your Chief Yarn Winder does an excellent job. He deserves a raise??? I love the blue shawl you just completed.....it is sooooo beautiful. Great job Connie! You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteThe Great Ethan Allen, He just winds it around his hand to begin....I think...that is how I do it...then just slip your hand out and you have a good start on a ball:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think I’ve made that shawl or one near like it. It looks so soft.
ReplyDeleteThat looks sooooo soft! Somebody is really going to enjoy snuggling up in that. Lovely colors, too.
ReplyDeleteLovely shawl! Good Job for him.....keeps him off the street and out of trouble! I like that coral yarn....yum!
