Too Cold To Snow

When we dip below zero it rarely snows.   The high yesterday was 9 F or -12 C eh.  It seemed much colder and last evening the temperature hovered right around  0 F  or -17 C.  It was COLD.

My baby brother and his bride cooked  supper...chicken, baked potatoes and chili...it was great!  We don't often go out after dark...and the car didn't have time to warm up between his place and ours.

Here is the Christmas tree on Main Street...it is leaning a bit.  Hope it doesn't fall over.

  1. The dinner sounded wonderful...it's even chili weather here. Yes, I hope that tree doesn't fall down!

  2. It's been cold here, too. I hope the tree survives the season. We've had such winds!

  3. Dinner sounds perfect. A great way to warm up the insides. That poor tree doesn't look like it's going to make it does it? If you are having the ridiculous winds we are, it doesn't stand a chance.
    Blessings,

  4. The photo captures the feel of a small town perfectly! It's been cold down here, too. Today is a warm up.
I't nice to have someone cook for you.

  5. If this is any indication it seems we're in for a long, hard winter.
Like the previous comment, I hope the tree stays standing.

  6. The leaning tree made me chuckle. Hope you don't get any big winds from the wrong direction.

  7. It’s so cold there. I’m feeling bad for you. I really don’t like cold weather.

  8. We keep having snow showers, often mixed with rain. The streets stay clear. The temperature hovers between 31 and 36. It's cold, wet, and sloppy. Sun breaks, when they happen, are welcome.

  9. Dinner sounds good... stick to your ribs good! Do you put the chili on your potato? I love it that way. Have a great week.

  10. Were you the one who posted a few years ago about the tree in town falling? It happened somewhere but I don't remember where.

  11. Sounds very chilly out your way. That tall tree looks like it grew that way, leaning to one side. Hopefully it has been braced.

  13. They are calling for a warmer winter down further south but unfortunately, that means more snow. It has been so cold the last two winters that I have barely used my snow blower at all and never to aid in getting out of the driveway. I mostly just cleared off the skim of snow so it didn't pack down and turn into a sheet of ice that lasts until spring.

  14. How nice to be invited over for dinner at your brother's house. I'm sure that was a cold ride in the car between your house and his, though. I like seeing your downtown and the big tree. Can't wait to see it lit! Very cold here too...but soon warming to the twenties and maybe even thirties!!!

  15. My goodness, I hope that tree doesn't fall over either. We recently had a tree come down unexpectedly on a busy road and land on a car. Thankfully nobody was injured, but someone caught the whole lot on their dash-cam. Quite incredible to watch!

  16. Our old hometown gave up and just bought a fake tree based on a flagpole support. They had a great living tree ans someone decided to just cut it down.
