The Bobber Tree

The leaning tree has a new mane.  The Bobber Tree.

It almost looks like a decoration.

We had a quiet Sunday.  We worked together on Christmas Ornaments.  My other baby brother and she who sees robins first came by in the afternoon for a visit.  It was another chilly day with a high temperature of  38 F or 4 C eh!  Of course next March that will be a heatwave!

Nephew Josh had an emergency appendectomy last Friday morning.

  3. It does almost look like it's that way on purpose. I hope your nephew recovers quickly from that operation. :-)

  5. Bobber tree made me laugh... I've decorated a few trees like that in my time

  6. That is such a weird tree! Woke up this morning to snow on the ground and a heavy snow falling. Stopped about 9:30 AM but still very windy. Snow wasn't expected until late afternoon.

  7. Those discarded fishing lines are a real hazard for birds, unfortunately.

  8. We dropped to 37* last night. I'm ready for it to freeze. I'm tired of the work.

  9. That tree has strong roots that are making the tree hang in there. The bobber could have a young person's work behind it but even experienced fishing people do make mistakes like that.

  10. I hope Josh is doing well, poor kid.
Goodness I wonder how long before the bank erodes enough that the tree ends up in the water.
Cool here too, but no snow in the forecast...yet.

  11. It needs about 100 more of those bobbers! LOL I'm amazed that it is surviving with that major lean going on.

Our high today might make the low 40s. But it's almost 1 PM and only 39 degrees. We finally got a pretty hard freeze last night and the ash trees have dropped their leaves.

  12. Poor old tree. I wonder how long it will be until it falls.
Hopefully your nephew makes a quick recovery.

  13. There is a card company called "The Leaning Tree". I wonder if they live near you? LOL! It needs a few more bobbers. It's only in the 50's today and our first freeze is tonight....very early for here. The word is out that we are all in for a rough Winter. We shall see. At least we're retired!

  14. The Bobber tree is pretty unique! I hope your nephew has a speedy recovery. Not much going on here, just two old folks sitting in their chairs waiting for the rain to come. Have a great week.

  15. It's been chilly. I had an emergency appendectomy 14 years ago. It's painful and scary. I wish him well.

  18. Sounds like a nice day to stay inside. I always laugh that a day like today (we wore winter coats) will be a sweater day at this temperature in February! Prayers for a fast recovery for Josh.

  20. One day that tree will definitely be bobbing.
Emergency appendectomies are the pits. I hope he recovers well and fast.
Very cold here as I am writing at 1am it's 18degrees.

  21. Sounds like the Christmas Ornaments are moving along - I can't wait to see what it is!!! Well that is why we missed seeing Josh on Saturday evening.

  22. I see why you named it the bobber tree. At first I thought maybe the tree bobbed up and down when the wind blew. Bet you some fisherman was aggravated. :)

  23. We have seen a multitude of bobber trees in all our time fishing. Jerry has added to a couple along the eay... I stay away from trees and out of his swing zone. Haha! Praying that Josh has a speedy and comfortable recovery!
