We read Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. I gave it a 9 out of 10. I would have given it a 10 but I stopped reading the last 10 pages or so and wrote it in my head. The next morning I finished the book and was disappointed that it was predictable.
Oh well. There were only three of us at book club and we all enjoyed the read.
The author is from Minnesota. He was at a book signing for his newest book at the bookstore in town the Friday before Book Club.
Far Side
I’ve read this and enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed some books lately from local authors too.
ReplyDeleteThe last one I read "South of Luck" was a bit predictable also, but still a good story.
:)
One of my favorite authors. And Ordinary Grace was excellent. I miss my book club group. More than half of them have move away as they retired to be closer to family. And a couple more have passed. I believe there are only 3 of us left in town. We play cards together instead now.
ReplyDeleteI'll put this on my library list. I've been going through books lately, it's a good thing!
ReplyDeleteDid you get to meet the author?
ReplyDeleteTerry and Linda, No it is a very small bookstore so there would be too many people.
ReplyDeleteI think belonging to a book club would be fun. Mine would have to be for mystery suspense-type books...which it sounds like this was falls into that category. I know there are some online book clubs so perhaps I should look for one to join. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you mentioned William Kent Krueger because a couple of years ago I read a number of his books and they were good. Either I read all of his books that were in our local library or some other reason but I forgot all about him. I imagine Ordinary Grace is a recent release.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Ordinary Grace and just recently finished Fox Creek which I thought was good too. Joyce in Kansas
ReplyDeleteThanks for your book and movie reviews. We watched Age of Adeline, which you recommended a while ago, and liked it very much. Will try Ordinary Grace.
ReplyDeleteI write down the movies and books you like...thanks!
