Cars with Fins.
We had a quiet Saturday. Far Guy struggled with the front seat cover for his old car, he finally got it arranged so he is half pleased.
We recycled and on the way stopped by the place we rented on the narrows the Fall and part of the Winter 1972/1973. One of my cousin's daughters bought it and she has fixed it up real cute! The bathroom is no longer blue. Our oldest daughter and I lived there alone when Far Guy went to Basic Training in San Antonio, Texas.
My Mom made an apple crisp and she and Dad came out in the evening, my baby brother, his bride and Baxter came over too. It was a nice evening to sit outside. Baxter is two years old now and I will take a photo of him after he is groomed later this week.

What a cool car!
ReplyDeleteSome years ago my daughter and I were on our way to NY and stopped in Havre de Grace, Md. and found the house we lived in when she was a baby. Looked the same from the outside. We didn't ask to go inside.
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun your parents got to come out. I bet they loved that!
ReplyDeleteYummo.... apple crisp!! I love that stuff! And I love fins on old cars too! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was a wonderful gathering. I look forward to seeing Baxter. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with the car and fins. Pretty fancy.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see how things change. Hopefully for the better.
ReplyDeleteLove that car! Wow!
ReplyDeleteHave a great sunday and take care...

My parents had a couple of Buicks with fins. The first was subdued. When they got to the second, all bets were off. Enormous hunks of metal jutting from the fender!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have your parents visit, with apple crisp.
Sounds like a great time catching up with family. That car is something else!
ReplyDeleteHome made apple crisp shared with family - can't get much better than that. The license plate on that car is awesome!
ReplyDeleteFamily outside, apple crisp is a great thing. The cute was hard at first for me to see as I was so fascinated at the design of the back of the car. I distinctly remember that model.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear your mother is still doing motherly things. That sounds like a very good gathering.
ReplyDeleteOh I definitely remember those cars with fins. We had a light yellow cadillac that looked a lot like the back of Far Guy's car. That was back in the 1970 when my girls were two and four. Wish I could write interesting posts like you...short and packed with interesting stuff.
ReplyDeleteCrazy fins!
ReplyDeleteApple crisp—that sounds so good.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect evening with your parents and other family sitting outside and enjoying that apple crisp.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys had such a nice visit and apple crisp too. How nice.
