Sad News

 Yesterday Far Guy's sister died.  He spoke with her shortly before she died.   She died from Metastatic Breast Cancer that spread to her brain and throughout her Nervous System.

They were very close siblings, each leaning on the other throughout their lives.  Jan was well loved and will be missed very much.

One of her favorite Hymns, she sang it to her Father on his last day.  Her husband played it for her yesterday.

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling—

  Calling for you and for me;

Patiently Jesus is waiting and watching—

  Watching for you and for me!

Come home! come home!

  Ye who are weary, come home!

Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,

    Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading—

  Pleading for you and for me?

Why should we linger and heed not His mercies—

  Mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing—

  Passing from you and from me;

Shadows are gathering, death-beds are coming—

  Coming for you and for me!

Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised—

  Promised for you and for me!

Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon—

  Pardon for you and for me!

  7. That is a wonderful old hymn. I've always felt it had a calming effect. My condolences on your sister-in-law. It's so hard to let go, but also hard to watch them get weaker and weaker. I spent the last month with my mom as she died of ovarian cancer so many years ago. Hospice caregivers were my heroes.
