Happy Thanksgiving!

We have a quiet day planned, we have a few things to do.  I will make pumpkin bread for the Grands and Far Guy is making his cheezy dip.  Ribs are on the menu for our evening meal.

Today we are thankful for shelter from the cold, enough food to eat, reasonably good health and our family.

We had lunch with my parents yesterday... Mom made Sloppy Joes and we brought  Sour Cream and Raisin Pie for three of us and Far Guy had Oregon Berry Pie.  The pie was delicious!

Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Sour cream and raisin pie? I've never heard of such a thing. I will have to look that up! I made a rhurbarb pie last night for dinner down at my aunt's house this afternoon. Not going to tell anyone that the rhurbarb, which was in the freezer was from 2018.

  16. Happy Thanksgiving, Far Side! I hope your day was as quiet as you had planned it to be. We went the non-turkey Thanksgiving route, ourselves, this year...though we did do a turkey and all the fixins a few weeks ago, all the way through making turkey stock and freezing the leftovers for soup this winter. Once a year is enough for that job!

  17. Being a diabetic who isn't suppose to eat pie, I had to look that Oregon Berry pie. It was a first for me to hear of it. Both pies sounded good and I am sure your parents had a great visit and dinner with you. We found a place to eat out at with sort of fake turkey. It was still fun to get out with the crowds. Happy belated Thanksgiving.
