Ready set

SNOW??

Yes it snowed...most of the day yesterday it melted...but toward evening it began to stay on the grass.

Ready set BAKE
Aubrey and Katie helped bake cookies....Swedish Browns and Lemon Cookies
This is the remnant of about 15 dozen cookies.  I mixed up the Swedish Browns (sometimes I call them Sweet Molly Browns) before they got here and when they arrived we began and in two hours the cookies were baked and cooling and the kitchen all cleaned up!   It is great to have baking help!!  Aubrey is a great helper as is my niece Katie!!!!!

Ready set Bake again!  I am all set for the Cake Bake today!

Gathering what you need is half the battle.  4 cakes are from scratch and 3 are helped with the assistance of a cake mix and lemon pudding.  I hope they all turn out okay.

  1. What fun! What a cozy kitchen with the snow outside. Even a little sprinkle gets me in the mood for baking.

  3. Great days for baking with snow falling and temps dropping! I agree...prepping is 1/2 the battle and I enjoy it more when I have prepped ahead of time. So glad you had some great help. I love your Swedish Browns...one of my favorites! I hope everything t urns out well. It was 34 here this morning and the heat is on.

  6. I am a little scared to post after the one above me LOL . What a wonderful way to spend a cold day. I love to bake, but I am a little odd - I like to do it on my own. I think it comes from baking when my kids were here. We had a very tiny house (my husband has made it much bigger with additions) and a tiny kitchen and it was such a challenge with kids underfoot. I have never had a big "cake bake day". I do a day of pies in the summer for our church festival, and maybe an extra pie day or two if we have a church dinner during the year and cookie days. Your post is making me hungry!

  7. I think it's wonderful that you have the girls close by to help you bake for the big occasion. Our snow is still hanging around but hopefully will be melted by the end of the day as we're supposed to be in the 50's. I've never heard of Molly Brown's.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  10. Join the club. We've had 3 or 4 snows. We also had minus 10 one night.

  12. I can't imagine seeing snow already. We could get a thunderstorm tomorrow. Hopefully it will bring some rain. That bum you deleted must be the same one I have deleted twice today! Hope your cakes turn out good. I'm better at baking pies than cakes.

  14. I wonder how it is that a number of us are having trouble this past week with what I assume is the same spammer ( if that's a word). I wish there was a way to permanently disable him ( in more ways than one).

I hope you'll post pics of your cakes once all ready to go!!
