Flower Bed

I prepped the small flower bed...pulled the weeds... I went to the local hardware store earlier this spring and bought some copper pipe for solar light holders and just stuck them in the ground willy nilly.
Before:
During

The OCD in me wanted to do something about those Solar Lights...so I lined them up. Perfect!

After I took this photo I added some more soil and planted these flowers.
Red and White Impatiens, a Double Impatiens mixed colors, Salvia Red and Salvia Victoria Blue, Blue Pansy and Yellow Violas.

I hope they grow and the squirrels leave them alone. I also hope it doesn't freeze.

  2. The impatients always remind me of a neighbor we use to have...it will be fun to see yours once they are established.

  3. Very pretty. Our prairie spiderwort is blooming. It is a lot like the garden spiderwort my mother gave me but sturdier. I think there is another name for it but I've forgotten it.

  4. Love it. My flowers are doing well. I planted less this year to cut down on the work. More perennials and less annuals and no veggie garden. Too wet.

  5. Are you still in possible freeze weather? I sure don't know much about Minnesota, and what I do know makes me glad I don't live there! :-)

  9. I sure hope it doesn't freeze there either. We are getting the heat here and if I could I'd send some of it your way.

  11. I bet this little spot will look fantastic with those flowers! Our gardens – flowers and veggies – have all been delayed so much because of all the flooding, but I was able to get things in the ground at both the kids' houses during short intervals. Flooding is finally receding, so hopefully we can get everything else in! ♥

  15. It should look great with all the different colors. We were cool this morning and I had to wear a long sleeve shirt for a coat. I can’t believe we still have cold. It is raining here again. I mowed before it started.

  16. I can see that light and color are important to you. Makes sense, given where you live.

  17. It looks very nice - the flowers are such pretty colors! I have gone through all of my lights and tried to fix some of the old ones. Now down to the ones that don't work - finally some of my original ones I believe are done.

  19. Oh yes, the solar lights look much better neatly lined up! I'm with all the others who are hoping you don't get a late frost.
