Oaks are very slow to leaf out.
Farmers have begun working in the fields.
A survey crew was by and began surveying our County Road...rumor has it that it will be redone this summer. Only four miles are marked...who know what that means.
We had lunch with my parents for Mother's Day and last night I took my Dad to Bingo. Neither of us bingoed but my baby brother did...so we weren't total losers.

Hard to believe you are still kind of brown. I have had to mow my lawn once already and it needs it again. It is green around here with all the new leaves coming in. Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to you.

Yesterday we had what felt like full-on summer, almost 80 degrees and very dry. I'll be glad when this warm spell passes and we get back to our normal weather. I look forward to seeing green in your pictures very soon now. :-)

ReplyDeleteDoes that mean you will now have ditches? Your spring is very slow. I assume that it will start to green soon with it being May. I guess a couple of weeks will make a big change. Living in the south I have to mow the second time this weekend.

ReplyDeleteWe had spring arrive almost overnight. Poof! Went to bed all brown outside and woke up to little baby buds on the trees about a week ago and have "real" leaves on most trees now. 84 degrees is predicted for tomorrow before cooling back down to normal next week again. This has been the strangest spring I can remember in a long time.

I wonder if there is any chance they will pave or blacktop your county road? When my parents retired in the country on an old dirt road it was a big deal if they even graded the road. Spring is slow in many areas this year. We have Spring but with occasional almost winter like days. The weather gets stranger every year it seems.

ReplyDeleteWe are in zone 6B almost on the Virginia line but in West Virginia and just a short distance from the lines of Maryland, Pennsylvania. Are Lilacs and Snowball bushes are done and now have Iris and Peony bushes starting to bloom! But, oh the Allergies and humidity!!!!I discovered last year that I can't bring my peonies in the house anymore because my allergies have gotten worse. I'm so mad because I love bouquets in the house.I went to the nurseries several times already and have brought home two more White crabapple trees, two more Snowball bushes and lots of flowers to plant. What was I thinking said my husband! Oops! Well, it's Mothers day weekend I said! Now ,it's a weekend and not a day he said! yup, that's it! Guess I have to plant because tomorrow is a lot cooler than today. Hope you have a nice Mothers Day Connie. Sharon
