This photo was taken at my parents home on the lake December 24, 1977.
My baby brother has his arms around all the girls. My sister is in the back she was 11 years old. Trica age 5 and Jennifer age 2 in the front. My baby brother would have been 23 in 1977 and he was a student in Tulsa Oklahoma and not yet married, but would be the next summer.
Trica and Jenny had similar dresses, floor length, gingham and white dresses with flowers on the front.
My Dad ( age 51) in back, then me (age 26), my other baby brother ( age 17), my Mom ( age 48) with Jennifer, Trica and Julie in front.
I think someone in the family still has that couch…although it has been recovered.
That couch looks similar to the one my parents had. Mother made slipcovers many times for it. Nice photos of your family.
ReplyDeleteSweet memories! It's really something when you can look back over decades and generations. I guess we are lucky to have lived this long. ;) Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNice pictures make nice memories!
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas Memory photos. They are the absolute best. Just an idea - maybe you could scan them all into a book for Christmas gifts next year? They are family treasures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun Christmas memory! 1977 was our first holiday we spent together as a married couple. My new husband wanted to give me cash for Christmas because he had no ideas for shopping. My best friend took him shopping and he bought me a little music box. I still have it.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun memories. And your photos look so familiar to me. We were married in 1978 and I had a similar hairstyle and glasses to yours! I analyze furniture looks a lot like your parents’. I’m so thankful for the pictures that we have. Thanks for sharing with us. Blessings, Betsy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and memories!
ReplyDeleteGreat old pictures. 1977 was not the best year for me. I had had my 5th baby just 2 months before and we had since then moved into a rental place and were planning on building this house where we now live. It was a busy time.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Those old couches are indestructible. I still have one of those chairs and it has been re-covered more times than I remember. Can't part with it, ha!
ReplyDeleteLove these old pictures. Baby brother has a very definitely 70s look. It's interesting how styles change, usually subtle but definite. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose were the days. Christmas with lots of kids.
ReplyDeleteSuch good memories
ReplyDeleteI just love old family pictures. Thanks for sharing. In our old family pictures I have terrible chapped lips every Christmas! Nice! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteFun to look at these pictures (at the lake).... funny how some of those furniture pieces seem to hang around but in different colors!
ReplyDeletePictures from the past are especially nice to revisit at this time of year. After my mother died my step father threw out all the pictures. I have none except a few that others sent me. Good looking family!
ReplyDeleteI love your reminiscing posts!
