I took down the December flag and put up the Cardinal.
We might get a winter storm…who really knows for sure. Winter storm Hunter. Far Guy had a Doctor’s appointment in Fargo yesterday…the roads were all great and we stopped only one other place…Menards to get a new handle for the screen door…it was installed with a minimal amount of cussing.
The yard January 10th. It was a warm day and the temperature was about 36 F ABOVE zero…I knew it would not last….we are headed back into the deep freeze…but the mild temperatures for a few days were a real treat.
We have visitors every night right around dark.
They like to get seeds under the Thistle feeders, Far Guy put out some carrots for them and some corn… I watch them through the window every evening as I make supper.
I am enjoying these warmer temps while they last. I have the same nightly visitors; mine come after dark so I never get to seen them, just their tracks in the snow. Glad you got the new door handle installed.
ReplyDeleteOh! Yard bunnies!!! :-D And the flag is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGlad the handle for the screen door is now replaced, and installed without too much cussing, and that the roads were clear for the appointment. Hope the storm isn't too bad if you get one.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday! We are looking forward to snow but not the cold temps... fingers crossed it doesn't get too cold!
ReplyDeleteHey, you forgot your eh temperature today. It is brutally cold here minus 31 C (minus 23 F). I'm not going out for groceries tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteCold, east wind here yesterday. It managed to blow the predicted storm off course, so no new snow this morning.
ReplyDeleteLove your flag and the photo of your visitors. Life is good.
I enjoy your blog - family, flags, hobbies and critters, especially Chance. Keep Bloggin!
ReplyDeleteStorm came through here. More wind than snow as we were on the edge of it.
ReplyDeleteCute cottontails!! I have only one cottontail that comes around occasionally--or that I see come around, anyways. Hard for it to get here with all the jackrabbits. Has to wait till they are all gone.
Love how you change flags throughout the year. So glad you had a smooth trip before the storm yesterday. :) :)
Does Chance like to chase the Bunnies? Boomer would just look at them...I know he is a beagle, but he doesn't know it.
ReplyDeletehe used too, now he leaves them alone, they are really fast! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a good road day for the appointment. We are having an ice storm here in Missouri today so we're not going anywhere. How well I understand your description of the door handle installation! The degree of difficulty of any repairwork here is measured by the amount of cussing!
ReplyDeleteHope you both (and Chance too of course) have a wonderful week! Stay warm!
I like your cardinal flag!
ReplyDeleteSo nice of you to treat the bunnies to carrots!
ReplyDeleteAww...what sweet bunnies and hoe nice of your to feed them Here, with no snow cover there is still plenty to eat and it's green. It was 64 today but we have a Winter Weather Advisory and tonight it is going down to 22! they're always wrong here though so who knows what we'll get. Stay warm and glad you had a safe trip to the doc!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like your visitors! Cardinals would be great visitors too. We don't have them here.
ReplyDeleteI learn something every day! I did not know that Cottontail bunnies stay brown all year unlike the rabbits I knew on the prairies ( or maybe those were hares!). In any case, it's kind of you to feed them.
ReplyDeleteOur yard bunny likes apples! We sometimes toss him/her a piece when we take Ramona the sheep her twice daily apple. Glad you had a break from the cold for a few days. David and Melissa are experiencing a wind chill of -40 tonight, which is the same both F and C'eh'. Yuk!! is all I can say. Projects done with a minimum of cursing are a bonus ;-) We have a bit of freezing rain at the moment, but it is supposed to warm up.
ReplyDeleteI come here and see snow, if only seeing snow would make me feel cooler, it is stinking bloody hot here
ReplyDeleteOur weather is mild but very wet. I learned that my boots need to be treated again because they leaked yesterday on our very sloppy hike. I wish we had rabbits around here. It's mostly deer and squirrels. :-)
ReplyDeleteNo rabbits this winter. Could be the bald eagle. I'd sooner have a rabbit.
ReplyDeleteThe banner is so great. I don’t know If I will ever see cardinals here. With my neighbor around who hates rabbits, just because, I bet there will never be rabbits.
