It warmed up briefly over the weekend and then it snowed, turned cold and we were thrust back into the deep freeze. Cold temperatures along with a wind had the wind chills hovering from –30 to –50 below zero.
I took advantage of the warmer weather and took some photos outside…I had been inside the house way too long. Cabin Fever will get to you sooner or later and a walk in the yard was the best medicine for that!
The glass flowers are holding up quite nicely.
The old Border Collie didn’t want to pose for a photo.
He was ignoring me. I told him that the snow shows up so nicely on his black coat…but he still ignored me. I should have had a treat in my pocket!
We got two+ inches of snow before going into the deep freeze again. We should emerge from the deep freeze on Wednesday and it looks to be a warmer weekend!! Something to look forward to!
We ran errands yesterday in the brutal cold, no fun at the gas station…or anyplace else. We are stocked up again for another week. Chance enjoyed his ride to town…he got REAL bossy as we were getting ready to leave and started whining and then barked at us…he was ready to go!
We got your weather here. Snowed and got real cold again. I am having a bad case of cabin fever and really need to be able to get out and take my daily walk again. Chance really does look like he is ignoring you.
ReplyDeleteOn our semi-warm day last week we planned to get gas while we grocery shopped. It was warm and every gas pump had a car using it! There are at least six lanes so we passed the gas (!) pumps and came home. We are hoping for 54 degrees on Friday. I cannot imagine your wind chills. Ours are only about 5 below.
ReplyDeleteTemperature is 1 degree this morning which is exceptionally cold for SW Ohio. Supposed to be warmer this weekend. I used the snowblower on our drive yesterday...second time this winter. Last year was exceptionally warm and I didn't use the snowblower once. Usually use it two or three or four times. We shall see.
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems like such a treat to get outside and walk around a little, when it warms up a touch.
ReplyDeleteYes, your glass flowers are holding up just fine. Another new header, all of which I enjoy. :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all needed to get out--LOL! Made you glad to be home again. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove that Chance!!! He has what we term here: "Trapped Cow" fever. OUT!! LET ME OUT!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were all able to go out. Hope you get your warmer weather on the weekend.
ReplyDeleteBrutal cold is the correct description. We don’t touch your lows but it seems impossible for it to stay this cold for so long. When the sun shines, I keep forgetting that it is still very cold out there. A short walk to the store require a hood or hat in order to get there.
ReplyDeleteStay warm out there! (And go Vikings!) :)
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos, looks cold, not cold here but just nice today, tomorrow it will be stinking bloody hot again but today it's nice
ReplyDeleteIt must be hard to keep the house warm in such brutal cold. Hopefully it will not last long.
ReplyDeleteWinter weather certainly controls us.
ReplyDeleteThere is winter, and then there is WINTER! We have dark, chilly, wet days, but you have WINTER!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what a treat in the pocket can do to cure doggie attention deficit ;)
ReplyDeleteWe're warming a bit too and we're usually 20 difference from my family is Iowa although it seems we're getting closer and closer in temps both summer and winter!
ReplyDeleteThis is the coldest winter I have ever experienced down here. Still not cold compared to you but we had single digits and were in the negatives for wind chill for quite awhile.
Nitty is the same way...hates to have her picture taken while Annie an dMiss Peeps are real hams! Stay warm! P.S. What was that printer you recommended? Mine won't even print grayscale anymore....it's dead like my camera~
