Jinx The Lumberjack

You have heard of the Elf on a Shelf?  Well we were looking for one and couldn’t find one.
Lo and behold a package came in the mail from Kansas.  Inside was a very nice bunch of Christmas Napkins and a Lumberjack Christmas Ornament.  Thank you Kay!

We discussed at some length of what to name our Lumberjack…Paul was obvious as was Jack…but I think he may be a bit mischevious so Jinx it is! So we have a Jinx the Lumberjack who makes us smile before he ends up on the tree.
Not dead resting in the warmth of the bubble lights
The bubble lights made their way to our kitchen window.  Decorating continues…as will Jinx the Lumberjack’s adventures.

  1. I love him!!! I think he should supplant Elf on a Shelf all over Minnesota! And Jinx is a perfect name.
Aren't bubble lights festive? My great aunt Maude had bubble lights on her Christmas tree in the 1950s which were always a frustration to Uncle Harry because they were very touchy. Aunt Maude was blind but she loved those bubble lights. My sister and I could sit and watch them in fascination forever while the grown ups visited and sipped a bit of Christmas cheer.

  4. Oh, I think Jinx is the perfect elf on the shelf for you!
I have one, an elf, that is, that is most likely close to 50 years old, and came with it's arms wrapped around a Whitman's Sampler candy box, a gift from a child way back in my early teaching days. It is currently spying on us from the shelf of an old German wall clock in the dining room. I wonder if he is taking notes.

  8. I love Jinx! Time flies, but honestly, I check your blog and realize I've missed 4 or 5 posts. It's crazy how the days go. I hope Chance is feeling better. He is such a sweet dog. That 1969 Christmas picture sure brought back some memories. I am glad hair styles have changed since then. Merry Christmas!

  9. I like Jinx. He will be a good new tradition for you decorating. I have a lot of blog friends that have fun with their on the shelf. He seems to go everywhere in the house and in a jar for all the children to carry around durning the day.
