Mikey our Great Grandson is almost six months old.
We got to see him on Saturday. He has quite a personality, he smiles and tries to talk ( according to his Mother he can squeal.) I call it finding his voice!
Mikey and his Great Aunt Jen
Mikey looks very much like his Mother, they have the same shape face, same little nose and dark brown eyes.

I gave her the usual Great Grandmotherly advice. Keep a hat on that baby in the hockey arena. Put an undershirt on him all winter long…she said “a onesie?” Yes…he can wear two onsies in the winter. Babies need that extra layer of clothing. I explained before onsies…all baby undershirts had a tab that you could pin down with the cloth diaper…and that kept it from riding up. I had both short sleeved and long sleeved undershirts for my girls.
Heck I wore an undershirt in the wintertime until I traded it for a bra and then wondered if I should wear my undershirt over or under my bra.
Mikey is precious and yes, he looks so much like his mommy.
ReplyDeleteYour great-grandson is darling, so healthy & happy! I love undershirts- currently the thin "long underwear" tops are nice under clothes in the winter.
ReplyDeleteMikey is so cute. You gave Maddie some great advice. Just for the record, I wore my undershirt over my bra. Haha
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! I love those button eyes. :-)
ReplyDeletePrecious photos of the little guy and good advice for Maddie. It saddens me to see so many babies in my area that are underdressed in the winter.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little guy! Sounds kind of uncomfortable to wear an undershirt under a bra :D
ReplyDeleteI agree. Good cold weather advice. Our winters have cold days...teens, twenties, and thirties but only a few. Lots of children...and especially teenagers don't dress for the temperatures. Cheaper not to buy a warmer coat, I guess. Probably less stylish, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of Mikey and Maddie.
ReplyDeleteMikey is sooooooo cute! Seems like he turned into a little koddo instead of a baby overnight, but almost six months already! As for over or under: over... or instead of. ;-)
ReplyDelete"kiddo" not "koddo. Dang. My excuse is that the i and the o have to be typed with my bum hand. Of course, I make mistakes with my left hand too. Oh well.
DeleteHe is a gorgeous baby - - - and I agree about the layering! There little bodies use all their internal insulation for energy and definite need the extra defense against the cold weather.
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute! They grow so fast. Seems like we just saw a photo of a newborn.
ReplyDeleteMy British heritage.....we called them vests. Hmm, I wonder how long I wore one, maybe not to the bra age, can't remember. Yes, in winter, a layer of anything that fits right against the skin is the best thing. Gotta keep the little cutie warm!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh--six months already! Boy--he really does look like his mama!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie pie!! :)
Mikey's a good lookin kid! Be proud of him.
ReplyDeleteHe is such a sweet little guy. The grow so fast, exploring the world and learning as they go. He does look like his mom.
ReplyDeleteRemember those baby bands around the belly?
ReplyDeleteMikey is soooo cute! I would love to talk to him and see him smile. He does look like Maddie. Those pretty eyes! I must have heard a hundred times from mama to keep an undershirt on Lynn and Andee when they were young, and she could not stand to see a little baby's feet bare and uncovered.
ReplyDelete.... and always put socks on the little ones, underneath their sleepers. A baby with warm feet sleeps better. Like Grandmas do!! :-)
ReplyDeleteXOXO
What a sweet little guy Mikey is. How he will enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! And he looks so much like his mother's photo..... I remember asking our doctor how I should dress our (first) baby in cool weather. He said just like you dress. Sweater, coat. undershirt - whatever you need he needs. I'm not too sure about that advice where it is really cold!!
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable!
ReplyDeleteGreat advice and loved your story too :-D.
ReplyDeleteIf he isn't the cutest! He does look like Maddie too. Yes, long undershirts and hats made of wool if possible. You are so funny....he's going to love his great grandmother! Lucky little guy!
