Weekend

Pansies must be tough…

Pansies Oct 28

They were blooming under the snow…hardy little things.

I worked on packaging up the woodcarved Christmas Ornaments so they will be ready to deliver in person or by mail sometime in November/ December. Far Guy made custom cardboard protectors for the ones that will be mailed.

I lost my mojo on the making of the Christmas Cards.  I want to veer off into other areas…very tempting….oh look I could make that…isn’t that cute?  I should make more photo cards…not…I have an idea for stitch marker do dads…I gathered the supplies for that project….and they are on my desk right next to the cards.  Will that be my reward AFTER the cards are done…or will I weaken.  Time will tell.

  1. Here in the south, pansies always thrive once the weather gets colder and they receive an occasional snow! My family and I are studying/learning more about Celiac disease and I thought I would share with you/your daughter that on my blog today, there is a good article about the benefits of sorghum.

  2. Yes, they start selling pansies down here in the late Fall just for the winter time....I have yet to get any. Yours are hardy for sure!Great minds think alike as I have been perusing You Tube videos, online bead shops and writing down supply lists for making stitch markers and progress keepers. I never thought I would make jewelry but never say never! You are way ahead of me as you know how to all of that already plus I'm sure you already have the tools necessary. This will be a learning curve for me but it looks like fun!

  5. Pansies are hardy. Snow provides insulation and prevents damage from a hard frost.

  6. Funny how we like to call someone we consider to be weak and fragile a "pansy". Doesn't fit, does it? Kinda' like calling someone a "snowflake", when snowflakes joined together smother everything, and individually are of unique beauty.

  7. Pansies are so brave! They're not "pansies," they are tough. I do think I see some goose bumps on yours, however. 😉

  11. Very hardy pansies!!
You could take a break for a few days and then go back to coloring. I have to do that sometimes on a big project. You've got some time before Christmas mailing. ;)

  12. Three cheers for your pansies making a comeback! I knew there were some flowers which could withstand a snow, but couldn't remember whether that included pansies. Glad they made it!
