We had company for the day, Jen and Andy came because it was a nice day to be out and about. They brought Miney and Little Elvis so Chance had company too…and it really perked him up to see his favorite people and his friends.
We went out for late lunch /early supper and then talked my other baby brother and she who sees robins first into a pontoon ride.
The lake was quiet. It was cloudy and cooler. I was thankful that I grabbed a hooded jacket.
Toward the end of our ride we saw a couple of loons. The daylight was fading fast.
No hope to see the Perseid Meteor Showers during the night because of the clouds. I heard that grandson Adam saw quite a few Friday night. At 200 an hour you are bound to see quite a few if you have clear skies.
How pretty, Connie!! I've only been on a pontoon once in my life and that was many *many* years ago... but I remember liking it at the time. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine Minnesota summer evening, and such a nice way to enjoy it. I love pontoon boats and lakes.
ReplyDeleteLove the loons: I can almost hear their calls.
ReplyDeletePontoon on a lake with loons. Ah! Minnesota how I love thee. ;)
ReplyDeleteA ride on the lake is a nice way to end the day.
ReplyDeleteThe lake is so peaceful and you were lucky to see those loons. I love their haunting calls.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping we have clear skies tonight so we can try to see some meteorites falling. Lots of light contamination here in town though.
I am trying to catch up after a week away from blogging. I'm sorry to hear about your arm/wrist. I had carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand about ten years ago. I didn't have pain. but a lot of numbness and tingling and i was worried about permanent nerve damage. I do think you should get the surgery soon.
ReplyDeleteI love loons! Mostly their call....so peaceful. I totally missed the meteor shower....didn't hear a peep about it and I think it was clear here although sometimes I am in bed before dark! LOL! I'd be better off seeing it in the morning as then it is dark when I get up!
ReplyDeleteI remember going out into the open meadow during the summers up there and watching the meteor showers.
ReplyDeleteWe were cloudy also. I missed the call of the loons. We had missionary friends for a meal and then they immediately left Iowa and headed to the Lake of the Woods area. Saw pictures on Facebook of them being out on the lake with family the next night.
