The curve in the driveway to the farm where I grew up.
I remember when the Lilac bushes to the left were really small. We could walk inbetween them. In fact every morning we would head out the door around the corner of the house, through the lilac bushes into the ditch and up on the road and down the lane to catch the bus. In the winter we had to go the long way around. The driveway was about a tenth of a mile long. On the right where the Jack Pines are there were just a few Jack Pines and a row of Lombardy Poplar.
The barn. I need to take some more photos of it from different angles as I have a project in mind. Not that I need another hobby but I saw a new art form that I want to try. I should probably hurry with the photos as sooner than later this barn will collapse.
The real reason we visited the farm. Meet Annie the thirteen week old Border Collie from Montana where her parents were both “cattle dogs” she has a good home on the farm with some beef cattle to herd and a whole bunch of little kids to spoil her.
She got bored with us. She has a sister named Lily who is a Boston Terrier…who will be the one in charge. It was fun to see this Border Collie puppy.
Chance watched from the back seat of the car…we only unload him when it is necessary. He had a good view and barked as we drove away!
That's an awfully cute puppy! Loved seeing him.
ReplyDeleteHow poignant to go back to the farm. Hubby and I went back to his. The house was gone, as were the barns. He's old! :-)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your new project. What a precious puppy.
ReplyDeleteWishing you, FG and Chance a nice weekend.
What a sweet puppy! And I do think that barn has seen better days, but it's beautiful in its own way. :-)
ReplyDeleteTime is not on your side - snap the barn photos soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the dilapidated barns and farm buildings. You can see the years, the labor, the history, and the care that has vanished through time. Nice pup. Nowhere near as handsome as Chance, of course. :)
ReplyDeleteAwww I bet Chance would have liked to meet her! She is really cute. Love the old barn.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you can visit the old farm.
ReplyDeleteAnnie is so cute! I sure miss our old border collie.
ReplyDeleteThat barn is awesome. I love, love, love old buildings! Cute puppy too!
ReplyDeletePuppies are just so adorable! I wonder what Chance would have done had you let him out of the car?
ReplyDeleteI love old barns and farm houses . Oh what a sweet puppy . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteYour memories of the farm are lovely. How nice to be able to go there and visit. I don't know anyone who visits dogs. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou do now:)
DeleteI love puppies! Annie looks very laid back... but maybe you could only get a picture of her when she was exhausted!
ReplyDeleteIt is a sweet puppy. It must have been in its exhausted and resting period. We never saw Barney as a puppy but we can look his kind up on the internet to see what he probably looked like. We did see a litter of Border Collie puppies at Petsmart one time. A litter of all black and white pups except for one yellow one.
ReplyDeleteAnnie sure is a sweet looking puppy. I thought for sure you had gone to bring her home. A new puppy for you all.
ReplyDeleteAnnie is an 'old soul'. At first I thought you were going to say that you got a puppy! Ha, I just realized that Henny said the same thing!
