It has been 8 hours and my eyes are still big black pools. I can hardly wait to go to sleep. I cannot be cranky whilst sleeping. Good thing it was a cloudy day. Good thing Far Guy had a meeting last night…Chance will put up with me no matter what kind of mood I am in.
We had storms on Tuesday night but the worst of it went south of us. We got 1/2 inch of rain so the grass will grow again.
I had an eye appointment… my vision is pretty much the same. I am getting new reading glasses. Far Guy picked them out because of course I could see nothing. Isn’t it funny that the time when your eyes are getting dialated is when they want you to pick out new frames? I know the glasses felt comfortable on my face. I have another appointment for the usual Vision Field Tests…just to be sure I don’t have glaucoma. My pressures are slowly going up 16 then 17 and now 18. I may have some cloudy spots that will have to be taken care of someday when they get bad enough, the Doc says my implanted lenses are properly in place and look good except for a few cloudy spots.
I have a headache and I am cranky…my blood pressure was way up…we had to wait about 20 minutes past our appointment time. I know I am whining. I will be better when I can see properly.
Far Guy was patient. Chance went along because the high yesterday was 68F or 20C eh! A tad chilly for July but I hear it will warm up on the weekend.
Cross one appointment off the list. No rest for the wicked this week, one appointment or meeting after another. Next week isn’t looking real relaxing either.
Hope your eyes are all back to normal this morning and now that you can see, you have no regrets about the frames selected for you! Good feeling to get those necessary appointments checked off and out of the way.
ReplyDeleteSure hope your eyes are back to normal by now. I know exactly what you are saying about them asking you to pick out new frames. I can't see diddly squat with out my glasses and so have to rely on others to tell me how I look (hubby is still working to I go to the eye doctor by myself). And the waiting around forever (especially when you hear them just shooting the breeze in the back) frosts me. Must ne all the rain/flooding/heat that is making me cranky this morning. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered why we are supposed to pick out glasses frames when we cannot see! I was pleased to find you could still blog, even if you couldn't see very well. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well with your eyes . I have to see a specialist every year so they can pun intended here keep an eye on my right eye as it has been the weaker of the two and glaucoma is in my family we see lol our eye Dr once a year as well thankfully we have full medical coverage from Hubs work and will after he retires till the day we croak lol ! I have prescription glasses for the computer screen as the resolutions of the screens are to hard on my eyes they strain to much with out them but I use the store bought magnified ones for reading things up close I am as blind as a bat lol . Humid as heck here 72 F feels like 88 or 22C fells like 31C eh?! and 95% humidity yikes ! Thanks for sharing , have a good week !
ReplyDeleteI've had glaucoma for a while now, seems to under control. I see my retina specialist next week.
ReplyDeleteWhen they dilate my eyes, I can't wait for the stuff to wear off. It's very irritating.
ReplyDeleteNice to have a cloudy day when your eyes have been dialated. My luck is not as good - seems like it's always clear and sunny.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound like a fun appointment. Hope your vision clears up as the day goes on. I've been on a glaucoma watch for years. The pressure kept going up but my field vision tests still came out OK. The pressure numbers have stayed the same for three or four years.
ReplyDeleteI hope your day is improving, along with your eyesight!
ReplyDeleteI always go look at the frames while I am waiting for my appointment, if I know I need new frames. So much easier. I have cataracts in my right eye, not bad enough yet for surgery.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of your week gets better!
great labels! hope your eyes improve!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a long time for your eyes to be feeling out of sorts. I certainly wouldn't be looking for glasses when I couldn't see them, but it may be a long drive for you to go back. They are probably hoping you can't see the price tags either ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's hell getting old(er).
ReplyDeleteI know all about waiting to see properly--LOL! Mine won't ever be quite right again, but LOTS better. I've gotten new glasses so many times without knowing what I really look like till they arrive and depending on someone else's opinion. I hope you like them. Comfort really matters more than looks anyways.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the cooler weather!!! Being able to have the patio door open all day has really drawn Annie out of hiding for a good part of the day. Cats really can't resist CatTV. ;)
I hope your eyes are doing much better today, by the time you read this. Not being able to really read and see is such a drag...as for the glaucoma..I hope you don't have it.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are in a difficult time with your eye's
ReplyDeletethat will make any one a bet cranky. Watch that blood pressure.
My post today is what made for us a very Cranky week.
Take care!
Well, to me, you are funny when you are cranky. Your labels cracked me up! At least you can cross that one off your list. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess things can only improve now. Hopefully soon. At least the weather wasn't terribly hot. Have to be thankful for small mercies. Seriously, I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSleep: the ultimate escape. I can so relate to you there. Hope you get some relief for your eyes soon!
ReplyDeleteHaving undergone the same procedure earlier this year, I can well understand your frustration. Napping was the only thing that helped me because that way I didn't have to interact with anyone or try to see anything. Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteUh oh...I have to go next week and drive myself home....they said the 'dilating' would wear off in a few hours....how long did yours take? I have to be able to drive 1 1/2 hours home again....now you've got me worried! I could ask my neighbor but she is not a good driver! I rode with her once just up town and it was scary! Glad you had Far Guy to go with you!
ReplyDeleteI am due for new glasses, about five years ago. I just keep getting stronger lenses for now. I need to find a new doctor or go to a specialist near here.
