Pretty Penstemon

I think a bird relocated some seeds for us.

We have never had a Large Beardtongue or Penstemon grandiflorus outside of the sauna…but we do now.  We had some in a nearby wildflower bed one year.  It is a native wildflower.

Penstemon near the sauna

It is a wonderful plant…one of those no fuss plants that likes the sandy soil.

My abscessed tooth is feeling better, the antibiotics are doing their job.  I will follow up with the dentist soon. He is due back today, he has a small office, it is just him, when he is gone there is no one to cover for him.   If you have a problem you go to the ER and I didn’t feel that it was that much of an emergency.  He will probably change my antibiotics when he returns and schedule an appointment for an xray. I will probably have to see an Oral Surgeon..yippie for me. Oh well for now I won’t put the cart before the horse.

I watched a movie called Wild Oats on Netflix it was pretty good I give it 5 out of 5 stars.  Some parts just cracked me up…especially the phone scene.

  3. I am also glad your tooth isn't bothering you as much. And I also love penstemon and see it a lot in the mountains during the summer. Must go get that movie and put it on my watch list. :-)

  6. We love a movie recommendation that makes us laugh. We will take your advice.
Nice of the bird to plant a pretty flower like that instead of a pesky weed. It's such a delicate shade of purple.

  14. Our neighbor raises wildflowers for sale and the Large Beardtongue has "escaped" on occasion, popping up in odd places on the right of way. It is so beautiful! You are blessed to have it in your yard

  15. Ouch, abscess....dental pain is the worst! I've taken Cephalexan 500mg for a week now and my toe is no better. Now, they're sending me to a wound clinic...sounds like I've been in a war of some kind...I guess the war of old age? They were concerned I might be diabetic but I'm not that I know of but those Turtle brownies I made last week may have put me over the edge! LOL!
The wildflower is gorgeous and thank you to the birds and squirrels who help with the seeding! I hope you fell better and heal up!
