Last week our youngest daughter Jen and I took a painting class, one of those where everyone paints the same thing. I think you are supposed to drink wine or something…I had a coke…it was in the back room of an eating/bar establishment and the waitress kept coming around taking drink orders. One soda was enough for me, besides that if I would have had a alcholic drink I would have been curled up on the floor asleep after the first few sips.
It was a fun class, we met some different people and step by step we ended up with a painting. Each painting was just a little different.
Mine is on the left and Jen’s is on the right. I may tweek mine a bit yet…when is a painting really done? These both need frames.
It was fun to spend time with Jen all by herself she even stayed overnight and helped us out with a few small projects before she headed home.
Today Andy and Jen celebrate their 19th Wedding Anniversary. They are on a Canadian Rockies Adventure to celebrate! So far the wildlife report was ; 4 goats, 2 mule deer, 2 black bears, and an elk on the first day!
Happy Anniversary Jen and Andy!
The one paint and sip class I went to was more of an exercise in frustration. I proved yet again that no, I indeed do have absolutely no artistic talent.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! My daughter went to one of those and she said it was fun. Your pictures both turned out great! Happy Anniversary to the happy couple! The trip sounds wonderful....on my 21 anniversary....hubby asked for a divorce! Now, looking back it was a wonderful anniversary gift! LOL!
ReplyDeleteNice paintings. You both have talent. Happy Anniversary to Jen and Andy!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to one of those painting classes, but they do look like fun. And congratulations to the happy couple. That's quite a bit of wildlife to see on the first day. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to Jen and Andy!
ReplyDeleteOne of my friends loved participating in the paint parties held in this area. It sounded to me like it was more party than painting.
Sounds like a wonderful trip for a nineteenth wedding anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. My cousin used to tell me that all I needed to do was smell the cork and I'd be asleep in just a jiffy.
Congrats to that sweet young couple! ;) And now they're off on an adventure!
ReplyDeleteThose painting classes have become quite popular. Your paintings turned out well! I can't imagine doing one while drinking, but that's the popular thing, I guess. What a fun time with your daughter.
A fun evening! Meredith and her friends have been to a few of those, it's always interesting to see how their paintings are the same but different. I guess she and I should go to one together ;)
ReplyDeleteYounger Jen looks like younger you, and younger Andy, well he looks like a younger Blake ;-)
That looks like fun, and interesting to see the difference in the two painting. Congrats to your daughter and husband on their anniversary.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary and congrats on spending time in Canada.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea that... everyone painting the same scene. Both turned out very well.
ReplyDeleteYou both did good! I love the picture of Jen and Andy. Gosh, which grandson is it that looks just like Andy in that picture? Don't you having a daughter home to spend the night! I do too.
ReplyDeleteJill and Irene took a class like that together. Their paintings were quite nice and somewhat different. Fun times for mothers and daughters.
ReplyDeleteThe paintings look great - sounds like fun! Happy Anniversary to Jen and Andy - hope they have a great time away relaxing!
