Minnesota is well known for being the Land of Sky Blue Waters. Possibly by the singing bear in the Hamm’s Beer Commercial. Back when commercials were fun to watch instead of irritating.
From the Land of Sky Blue Waters [(Echo) Waters]
Comes the water best for brewing,
Hamm's the Beer Refreshing,
Hamm's the Beer Refreshing,
Hamm's!
I am not much of a beer drinker but that bear sure was cute.
I took this photo over on the OtterTail River in Tamarac Wildlife Refuge. That is a Trumpeter Swan way out there.
I remember the song!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely photo of the swan.
Wishing you guys a nice weekend.
I remember the song too! Gosh, we used to sing with the commercial long before we knew what beer was. Beautiful blue water pix. Looks a lot better than snow on peonies!
ReplyDeletep.s. I found a recipe for Hot Browns on the Brown Hotel website. I won't have anything to gauge it by because I never tasted it before, but I'm going to try making it. Thanks for telling me about them! AND you told me about them in time for Derby Day!
Here's the link to their recipe: http://www.brownhotel.com/dining-hot-brown
Have a great weekend!
That was the best commercial ever. I still sing that jingle to this day. The swan is so neat. You sure do have sky blue waters. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat commercial is the one that had the drums (tom toms) at the beginning. I had a friend who had two Dachshunds and when that commercial began they would run, DASH, to the tv and watch until it was over. The drums must have meant something to them. I agree. Commercials used to be much more fun.
ReplyDeleteI remember that commercial, too. Strange what hangs around in my head many decades later. :-)
ReplyDeleteI always, always, always loved that beer commercial!
ReplyDeleteI can "see" the commercial clearly. Lots of old favorites come to mind - Speedy Alka-Seltzer and the Norelco Santa popped into my head immediately.
ReplyDeleteI remember that commercial, too. Used to be you could sing along with so many commercials.
ReplyDeleteI remember that commercial and the song! I had to go look one up on YouTube when I read this!
ReplyDeleteSo blue-tiful!
ReplyDeleteI must say that water sure is blue.
ReplyDeleteOurs is a light dirty color, in some places
it is red from clay.
Ha, ha I remember that commercial too. They sure don't make 'em as good as that anymore.
ReplyDelete...and Minnesota has lots of water.
ReplyDeleteYep, I can sing that commercial.
ReplyDeleteIn order to have blue water, you have to have blue sky. Sometime we do.
That was good marketing as it seems we can all still sing it to this day! They don't make Hamm's beer anymore do they? So much great nature up your way!
ReplyDeleteI remember that commercial, remember singing it and drinking Hamm's Beer.
