It was time for my shots. Especially the Rabies amd Lymes as we live in the woods. We got up just past daylight. I did my outside duties and we headed to town to the Rabies Clinic at our Vets office. Healthy dogs can get low cost shots one day only in the spring.
We waited in line for about 55 minutes before I got shot three times, twice in the butt and once in the shoulder. The girls there knew my name and everything.
Here was some of my scenery.
A sweet girl dog named Roxie.
A boy dog named Ruger.
Big dogs…we still had a little snow.
We all survived, I was a bit tired from all the excitement.
Far Side says get your pets spayed and neutered!
Hi Chance, Glad that is over with for you. You were a brave boy! Wishing you guys a nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOur vet decided Barney should get a shot for a dIisease that wild animals carry around with them. I think it is called Lepto. We use to have that disease threaten our hogs when I was a young farm boy. We did move away from the coons and possums but he has his shots for it anyway. We live in a community where most every household has a dog.
ReplyDeleteTucker here, I am mad at you. You reminded my Mrs. Owner that she needs to take me and Gypsy for shots. I don't like the smell of that place. I don't like shots. Yuck!! But, if they keep me from getting a terrible sickness, I guess that's a good thing. And the sting only lasts for a second or two. Maybe I should thank you.
ReplyDeleteHope it didn't hurt too much. Our cat is neutered, but I wish we'd had a litter from her before it was done.
ReplyDeleteSo Chance, your're good to go...through the woods and all over the yard.
ReplyDeleteI hate shot day, although I like going to vet's. Go figure, Mom says. I say it's because I can smell all sorts of smells and pee many times, but outside only. Boomer
ReplyDeleteLooks like you met some friendly fellow canines who all know how to just lay down and wait. That's a good skill to have.
ReplyDeleteGlad that is over with. At least you got to meet a lot of new friends. :)
ReplyDeleteI know you enjoyed the trip, all but the shots.
ReplyDeleteShots make us tired around here! We don't have any low cost shots but Mom got us all spayed and got some discounts from rescuing us all. I love going to the vet regardless because they pay so much attention to me and make me feel so special (Mom does too but I guess we sort of take that for granted). Annie doesn't like it near as much but we all behave and they like that and so does Mom. Grace and Miss Peeps only go once a year but I go the most because of my allergies. Mom is always so proud of us because we behave so well and she makes a big fuss over us when we get in the car....at least she doesn't do it in the vet's office....that would be embarassing!
ReplyDeleteWell, Chance, you're not gonna believe this but we got shot on the exact same day! We got mine yeaterday at a reduced rate, too, at the local humane society. They have a real nice vet I like there. I caused some excitement to keep everyone from falling asleep in the waiting room. Someone mentioned the word "squirrel" and I almost went through a glass door to get at it. People should know better than to say that word. Hope you're getting your pep back today.
ReplyDeleteBob the Border Collie
Glad you got your shots, Chance! You are one of the best for keeping fit in your golden years. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you were very brave!! What a good dog you are.
ReplyDeleteYou were brave! I didn't know you could get a shot against Lyme disease. I'll have to ask my vet.
ReplyDeleteWhile there are some good looking dogs there, I think you were the handsomest!
